Weezer do Spring 2022-03-17 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 15 Comments | Weezer decided to release a collection of 4 EPs with music inspired by the four seasons. The name of the project is SZNZ and the band released "A Little Bit of Love", the first single off Spring, which will be digitally out on March 20. CDs will follow in early summer.
Regarding SZNZ, front man Rivers Cuomo posted some sort of press release detailing the concept and backstory:
"The two angels descend from heaven down to Earth because they're tired of being so prim and proper up in heaven. They find themselves in a magical forest pre-Christian Ireland, in the midst of a circle of Elves, Fairies, and other magical creatures. There they learn of the power of love and self-acceptance, They learn of music, drum circles, flutes, and distorted guitars. They learn to dance.
But all seasons turn and eventually Adam and Eve grow Restless. As summer nears, they leave the forest for their next adventure in the far-off land of Rome, a place of much unrest, where the youth will soon rise up in protest. Yes, there are three seasons more, Each of which will offer its own palette of colors, creators and emotions to explore.
Join Weezer in this work in progress as they explore the Four Seasons in a set of four mini
albums."

Beside a string of US gigs, Weezer will be touring Europe this summer, some of the shows being part of the Hella Mega Tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy. View the itinerary here: https://weezer.com/tour

Weezer do acid
FTFY
| | | who let rivers join their d&d group
| | | "SZNZ" is an absolute dogshit name, but its a cool concept and song.
| | | Rivers still the king of a solidly catchy pop rock chorus. That distorted guitar at the end sounds like an FL studio plugin lol.
| | | OK Human was a fantastic album. I know these guys have it in them, this sounds like a pretty solid start to me. Better than anything off Van Weezer anyway!
| | | Gotta love the "everything was great before Christianity" propaganda. Song sounds good but that summary is cringe
| | | song is boring as hell
| | | gf said “they would play this at kohl’s”
can’t argue with that
| | | Yeah the "perfect Pagan world of love and self-acceptance" is tired and witless. I will say I'm surprised to see it coming from this group though.
Song's not bad, solid band
| | | i hope they do an album for every state next
| | | The color band would of course do something like this. 🙄
| | | The intro sounds like 21 Pilots.
| | | rules. unsurprising
| | | still miss matt sharp, had more influence on the band than people like to let on
