Stream 'Child of Night', official music video here:
Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments:
"We, members of our beloved and hidden world of the heavy metal underground teeming just below the surface, are the verminous. The rats and roaches looming in the cracks and crevices of this fallen world. We are the pariahs that the world of normality finds loathsome and obscene. We are the carriers of a plague of knowledge so vile that it could bring the unsuspecting mankind to its knees. Always the underdogs. Our love for this music and what it means to our lives is foolishly underestimated."
As for the lyrics and dark themes Strnad says:
"The outside world of religion-warped 'normalcy' is the opposing viewpoint. We are the ultimate antagonist to their archaic ways of thought, the dreamers of the nightmares that shake them to their very core. Although we are but lowly vermin to them, the unseen and underestimated, our numbers are millions strong. We cast aside their ways and prefer to take solace in the hidden realm of the underground where the dark fruits of free thought can be enjoyed. We are our own Gods. The responsibility of our actions is ours alone. Not unlike the appeal of a horror movie, there is a curiously dark side in all of us that can enjoy the occasional gaze through the eyes of the all-powerful masked killer. I enjoy taking the listener on such a ride. There is a certain catharsis in putting myself into the heart of each character I create. Where I lack power in my life, I channel it in my creations."

The pretentious insight by Stnard kills this for me lmao. Song is awesome, but the quotes are really cringey
| | | the song is brilliant.
| | | ^yeah that shit's over the top.
| | | Wow... Who would've guessed it was a heavy metal vocalist that would open our eyes to the way society really is. Absolutely powerful message
| | | Fucking lol. I didn't think TBDM took themselves as seriously as edgelord teenagers, guess I was wrong. Song is okay
| | | Song is meh tbh
| | | Song slams
| | | The song is really good, but whatever happened to their fun videos? The videos for Goat of Departure or Necropolis are far more memorable than another video of a band playing a song
| | | I like the emphasis on lows on this track. Trevor's rapid fire highs have become very tiresome over the years.
| | | Kinda curious about this LP but damn the accompanying comments are indeed a bit much lol
| | | Cliche TLDR of his comments: We live in a society.
| | | Sounds like top-tier TBDM to me.
| | | The song is awesome but the singer sounds kinda old for a 13 year old
| | | This sounded sufficiently different from their usual style to give some credence to their quotes regarding the experimentation on the new record.
| | | Song rips but band was better when they were punk dudes who loved to shred, unabomber-tier quotes lol.

| | | Who's the producer for this? Mix sounds kinda better than last album, less empty space in the low mids
| | | Not bad, but the solos are way to short on both new tracks.
| | | "The pretentious insight by Stnard kills this for me lmao. Song is awesome, but the quotes are really cringey"
You have to realise though that those comments are designed for a 15 year old audience who will think that is the deepest, darkest, dankest shit ever.
| | | ^ That is true. I mean, why are Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers and One Direction so gay? They know their audience
| | | one ear right out the other
