Ceres share new single; LP in April 2019-02-14 by keza | 5 Comments | Melbourne band Ceres have released a new single entitled "Me & You". The track is decidedly brighter in musical and lyrical content than previous emo-inspired efforts, following the thematic departure of their two recent singles "Kiss Me Crying" and "Viv In The Front Seat". The song's title references their previous track "Collarbone", which featured the lyrics "Bright red freckled shoulders, it was always me and you".
Frontman and lead songwriter Tom Lanyon accompanied the single's announcement on Facebook with the following statement:
“In my mind we weren’t ever making another record. And then this reason for it to be just came along. It’s for love. For responsibility. For growing old and for looking up. It’s the hardest we’ve ever worked on something. And finally—it can be for you.”
The single was announced alongside Ceres' upcoming 3rd full-length record, We Are a Team, due for release April 26th.

I really liked this band's first LP, haven't really given much of a shit about their other work.
| | | I highly recommend the EPs Selfish Prick and Luck if you enjoyed the first record, highly underrated gems in the same vein.
| | | Oof hard pass, what a shame
| | | not bad, awesome news
| | | Yeah, I reckon this track is a decent step up from the last two singles, though still not sure how i feel about the cleaner sound here
