I'll always love and enjoy the first couple records. They were young, they made derivative music but it had hooks and was fun. They just immediately hit a cross roads to either innovate and find a truly unique sound or regurgitate their musical influences and/or relegate to mediocrity and unfortunately it's been the latter. Honestly I haven't even listened to much of anything they've done since Poison which was trash.

Should I add the Jeff Killed John EPs to the BFMV page or make a new page for them on the Sput DB? Technically speaking they're the same band with a different name but there was a big stylistic change, with the really early stuff in 1999 being super nu-metal with moments where Matt Tuck impersonates Burn My Eyes-era Robb Flynn. Although towards the final EP it starts to show signs of what would become BFMV songs, like an early version of All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me).

My body resists with full force to check any live performance of them, but their singer sounds like a fucking robot with all the autotune, effects or whatever they use to make him sound so damn fake. That was the first thing I noticed when listening to venom but I guess this over polished ultra clean sound is pretty normal in modern metalcore for some reason.
