'New' Jimi Hendrix cover

A new posthumous Jimi Hendrix album will be released on March 9 via Legacy Recordings. Both Sides of the Sky was co-produced by Eddie Kramer and contains previously unreleased or unavailable material recorded between January 1968 and February 1970, including collaborations with Johnny Winter and Stephen Stills.

The cover of Muddy Waters' "Mannish Boy" is the album opener and Jimi is accompanied by bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles, who would come to be known as Band of Gypsys.

It's written by Jimi and even though it is marked as "previously unreleased" on several websites, it has been released on a compilation. Maybe it's a different version?

I would guess almost certainly a different version. Or, I've read that some Hendrix posthumous albums combined a few different takes into one track, so maybe this has never been released before as a complete single take?

live take off Blues and a hundred other bootlegs trumps this.. his studio songs were always inferior to live cuts.. nice to see the Hendrix estate continue to be as unscrupulous as ever on making money off his dead back..

Yeah Zappa has had like 50 posthumous albums. I'll check this out but I'm always skeptical of "new" Hendrix releases
