Snoop Dogg proves his OZ Worth 2007-07-08 by Charlie Manson | 5 Comments | BEWARE John Howard - controversial rapper Snoop Dogg is determined to "movizzle" Down Under and music giant MTV is backing him all the way.
The pot-loving rapper, who was denied entry to Australia this year, is hitting back at the Prime Minister, who branded him a "man of poor character".
Snoop will appear in the 19-part Welcome Snoop ad campaign for music channel MTV, which he apparently agreed to star in for next to nothing.
The ads are a tongue-in-cheek look at Snoop's bid to become an Australian citizen, following him as he buys a house in the 'burbs, gets an Aussie girlfriend (Sophie Monk) and learns what the word "girt" means.
The ads were conceived before Snoop was banned in April from entering Australia because of his gun possession and drugs record.
He was due to appear at the MTV Australia Music Video Awards in Sydney.
Organisers had to be satisfied with a video link-up instead.
The campaign has gained new meaning for fans, many of whom have signed an online petition to have Snoop allowed back in the country.

| | | Thank you for this fantastic contribution. Great news item, 10/10, would recommend to others.
| | | Cool headline. He's a hockey fan. That's cool too.
| | | (Please read with sarcasm)
No way, he wouldnt have been banned for gun possession and a drug record. And that harsh harsh comment by Johnny "man of poor character" i bet that really hurt him.
(exit sacasm)
I think Johnny was just avoiding been shot by his "homies" though by tredding lightly. What does "girt" mean anyway? (i dont make much of an Australian)
