Kishi Bashi Sophomore Album

2014-03-17 by Anthracks | 16 Comments
Japanese multi-instrumentalist Kishi Bashi has announced a release date for the follow-up to his 2012 sleeper hit 151a. The album is titled Lighght and promises more sprawling, progressive soundscapes in addition to his signature brand of violin-centric avant-pop. Lighght will be released on May 13 via Joyful Noise Recordings.

The first single, 'Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!' can be heard here:

feanaro, I prefer the beginning of the single version, but I like the last half of the album version better. Both have something to love. The best version is when he played this song live for the first time in the US, and totally messed it up

yeah all the versions of this offer something cool and unique. it definitely is the second half of this one that ties it all together and this one strikes me most as sounding like it would fit on a full-length.
