I love the band.

There doesn't need to be a news article for every teaser, and if there is we should allow posting of the other teasers (I think there's six now?).

If we're going to be ridiculous might as well go all the way.

If you guys posted the real news, you would hear that they announced a new single release in August called "17 Crimes", and they've also been officially signed to Republic Records and their new album is being produced by Gil Norton.

I'm too lazy to post this as an actual news article because my news never gets posted when I try.

This had better be one fucking solid album considering the hype they're trying to build up over it...

Is there an ARG going on? Has the DF been active trying to play with these numbers?

Christ, it's been forever since the Decemberunderground game, I haven't been in the loop of the Despair Faction or AFISeries since, fuck, 2006?

^^

Would be cool, at the very least I'm sure fans would rip the audio from the vids and share them if they weren't included.

Might go listen to their entire discography now, taking care to skip DU, of course.

Used to be my favorite band. I'd fucking explode if Ancas's prediction comes true.

I post two articles...this one and a brand new song from another band...this one gets approved and
that one doesn't?

Anyways, I personally don't think these tracks will be on the album. There's 6 so far...that's a lot
of interludes. I just don't see how they would fit.

Some of the videos use the same track. In fact, they may all use the same track. Regardless, any time these guys release music, it's exciting. I saw them at The National in '09 right after they released Crash Love and they put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. So many theatrics and crowd pleasers are involved in their sets. They're a great band.

They're stupid good live. Nothing beats singing along with a band with the rest of the crowd. Such camaraderie.

Its weird because I've been listening to Black Sails and All Hallows quite a bit lately, maybe I'm getting young again :p

But I couldn't imagine these guys writing music I enjoy ever again.

Always funny to me how the people that started with early AFI find it harder to get into new AFI. Never really got that. I started with Crash Love and moved backwards and found something to enjoy about all their albums.

^ This sums it up.

The 90s were the most impressionable time for me and will always be the most important part of my musical life. Even the end.

To be fair, it couldn't be expected that they would always be that. I like that I can put on different CDs and hear different versions of AFI. I like a band that isn't afraid to change, even if it means alienating some of their fan base.
