No Metallica Album Until 2015

2013-06-05 by DragonHeartstring | 104 Comments
Highly influential thrash metal giants Metallica's drummer and primary song-writer Lars Ulrich has stated that it "would surprise" him if there was any new Metallica album until 2015. His reasons stated were the fact that the band takes a lot of time to work on a new album, and also there is the fact that the band is releasing a 3D concert movie that may extend the length taken to finish the new album.

About half of the time Lars is in the garage constantly smashing the snare while shouting 'LOOK GUYZ I CAN PLAY DRUMZ' to no one in particular.

Why does it take them so long to write anything? Death Magnetic was really just a rehash of their 80s stuff, and i'm sure the new album will be the same

"based on the big 4's output in this decade, Anthrax is our only hope."

I find that insanely ironic too... the fact that Anthrax were the least-accepted Big 4 member back in the 80s and now
with Worship Music, they established themselves as having the most quality and potential out of any of them for this
generation. Pretty weird how things flip like that... in other news, I'm really excited to see what direction they take their
music in with the next album :]

Yeah that's basically what I said.

They clearly have lost touch but they can do whatever they want and they have the right to. However we all know if they'd died in a plane crash 15 years ago they'd be immortalized like Pac or Nirvana. Except now they make crappy music with dumb ideas along with a following of not many, some who don't care anyway and that does do damage to their previous legacy.

BrieLarson
June 8th 2013

However if you just ignore however many of the last years a decade or a decade n then some and only focus on the previous then whamo they are one of the 50-75 best bands of all time. If you'd add it all up then umm they're in the 100-200 rankings.

Lars Ulrich is their primary song-writer?

Friday13th
June 8th 2013

James and Lars are both the primary songwriters of Metallica, so the article isn't wrong. As awesome as it would be if Mustaine and Burton wrote all of Metallica's discography by supernaturally collaborating across heaven/earth boudaries, that's not how it happens. Everyone needs to just cool it and give credit where credit's due no matter how much we dislike the guy.
