I liked it better when Propagandhi won the Songwriting Award for "A Speculative Fiction". Come to think of it, any Canadian band other than Nickelback > Nickelback.

Yep, lets face it, unless you worship little music outside the mainstream tripe the Grammy's and Junos won't mean shit to us. Sputnik seems to have a much broader sense of music (for the majority of the community anyway)These awards just aren't for us.

I don't see too many industries awarding people for making money through crimes against the community.

I'm not really defending them, I think they're generic and boring as well, just making an observation - they know how to market themselves. They're not making art, they're making entertainment.
And...if 99% of the population has bad music taste, its hardly a crime against the community, rather a crime against that 1% that has to put up with it.
