Following in the footsteps of Green Day and Fall Out Boy, rapper Kanye West, in a collaboration with Maroon 5 featuring Katy Perry, will also be covering the wordless theme song of The Simpsons.
Details coming soon.

wtf
|

Yeah... That's just pointless...
And yeah katy perry will be talented on this...
|
| |
I take it thats a pretty thinly veiled joke masochist
|
| |
Obviously.
I just think it's ridiculous. I would have neither known nor cared that Fall Out Boy covered this if no one had told me that it was Fall Out Boy. For all we know, that very well COULD'VE been Kanye with M5 and Katy Perry.
This is stuff saved more for live concerts. And even there, I'd rather hear "Linus and Lucy" than the Simpsons theme (unless it's Simple Plan performing it on a barge out in Lake Springfield. That would make my day...).This Message Edited On 01.25.09

Why did they leave out that little fast run in the song?

This simpson's cover sounds better.

this sort of news is what sputnik music's new section is all about, crackaz.
|

I'll never understand how musicians can even bother trying to justify being completely on their labelhead's cock.
|
| |
Version sucked, they left out so many things that make the theme great.
|
| |
terrible
|

This just goes to show that Pete Wentz's life is better off filled with ridiculous drama involving nude photos. It keeps him busy which means he doesn't do **** like this.

bababababababadabababa
|

Pretty bad version. Danny Elfman's original is best. Wow, never thought I'd say that.
|
| |
Why did they leave out that little fast run in the song?
because no one in the band is talented enough to play it
|

I seriously doubt that the purpose of this recording was the product of anything else but a record label cashing in on an ironic band name to raise the revenue in a suffering economy. This Message Edited On 01.25.09

Your right, but Fall Out Boy decided to name themselves after a marginally well-known Simpsons character. I doubt Island would have asked Bon Jovi or The Killers to do the theme song had they found the opportunity to re-write it.
|
| |
Well earlier you said that the purpose of the recording was to re-interpret the theme into the bands style. When your in the mainstream industry, its about whats marketable. Business-wise, this is a smart decision. Artistically, anybody could have recorded that, I doubt its bringing a lot to the musical table right now, or making Fall Out Boy's style seem any more expansive than it can be.This Message Edited On 01.25.09

I don't think I've ever seen you post during an argument without some unpleasant complaint about a problem that is very small. This Message Edited On 01.26.09

We weren't generalizing, we were discussing what each of us has experienced. Whether or not you are condescending and extremely biased in other posts you've made that don't concern me or what I've said is of no importance here. If you have a chip on your shoulder it typically fills back up when you speak to different people of different ideologies. This Message Edited On 01.26.09

not to feed you for more trolling, but I sense massive hypocrisy.

lololololololol?

culturally relevant musicians in the show they used to

You don't read what I type, breakdown. My condescension is not even in the same ballpark as yours, you and many other posters like you that support your holey arguments, are very quick to put down somebody else because you think your opinion is better than theirs. Backwards evolution, basically. And my opinion is ALWAYS justified, bias isn't present, I actively try to make my posts accessible to everyone where a very small audience could relate to yours, namely elitists. Believe it or not, there aren't that many.
