The Ancient Covenant doesn't sound any better than the demo version IMO. Probably going to avoid the new album.

They're both decent. I'm still pretty excited for the album.
|
| |
wtf both are great you fail
|
| |
yea the quality definitly downstepped if thats gonna be the mastered version but will still most definitly get it
|
| |
Songs were alright but The Faceless never caught me. However, the album art is sick. The band shirts and jacket are fucking incredible, I actually might have to buy the T with the mysticval blue globe.
|
| |
^The faceless didn't catch you but their logos and artwork certainly did!!
Songs were alright I suppose. This Message Edited On 10.16.08

I liked.
|

Yeee, these were good.
Thinking about getting the Package with the CD, Poster & Shirt 'cause, as Balls said, the art looks awesome.
|
| |
^I already bought that package, can't wait.
|
| |
stuff sounds like ass tbh
|
| |
that art is sweet. that banner on their page is sooo epic! i really like the new songs too, i need to buy this when it comes out
|
| |
fucking awesome just like I expected.
|
| |
the ancient covenant sounds way better, the demo sounded too programmed. it actually sounds like instruments now.
i tried to post this yesterday but sputnik is gay and doesnt let the members that dont post something everyday, post anything at all.

Hey, I have JFAC t-shirt. Band sucks *** but the design is pretty rad. I will get one of these shirts and try to get like the previous album and this.
|
| |
i dunno, am i the only one super tired of overdone kickdrums? they just always sound so fake now...
this band didn't do much for me. i'll take necrophagist anytime over these guys
|
| |
the new stuff sounds different but not bad
|
| |
i prefer the faceless over necrophagist because they incorporate more stuff than just guitar and bass wankery. but, whatever, everyone has their own opinion.
i liked the demo version of ancient covenant better. the guitar was spacier, which fit the song better and the vocoder effect (or whatever it was) was cooler. the drums on the new version are kind of annoying too.
that is some sick artwork though. and does anyone want to confirm my belief that demon carcass is derek rydquist? i'm about 99% sure he is. looks exactly like him, but all the promotional stuff still says the vocalist is "demon carcass", which is a pretty lameass name to be honest.
|
| |
It's Derek.
Everyone go listen to Xenochrist on youtube also, that song is so good.
|
| |
These guys have a pretty unique sound now. Spacey tech death is pretty new to me at least. I think this is going to be pretty rad.
How is it possible that their drummers just keep getting faster? It's confusing and upsetting to me.
|
| |
I am not a fan of the low vocals.
Which is odd cause I liked them on the last album...
|
| |
I hope they do a mix of lows and highs like their debut.
|
| |
^ Ditto.
I feel that this is a step in a more progressive direction and that this album will be more derived from the song Akeldama, which isn't a bad thing.
Does Anyone else feel this way?
Also, I heard the keyboard player left, any truth to this rumor?
|
| |
Indeed, keyboard player did leave. Weird guy...always wore a hoodie with the hood up every show, seemed kind of anti-tour, but how would I know.
I like the new songs...though I wish the production was a little more crisp. I like the drum sound though...I thought it sounded sick. Way more in a progressive direction and I'm glad...Definitely notice the influences they state more through these songs than the entire Akeldama album, with maybe two songs being extreme exceptions (Pestilence, Lecia.) Still, pretty cool.
And Xenochrist is incredible.

not too impressed with the new track. there were some good ideas but the structure and overall songwriting is comparatively underwhelming.
the ancient covenant is still one of my favorite faceless tracks to date. the guitars sound a whole hell of a lot better but the drums don't. the drier, more mechanical sound of the preproduction demo drums actually did more to contribute to the spacey atmosphere this album has emulated thus far. now, they're just kind of overwhelming and irritating.
xenochrist is also a great track. i can't wait to hear how that one sounds.
