Slipknot Pull Out Of Reading!

2008-08-20 by HispanicImpressions | 31 Comments
In the worst Reading related news, since this morning when Set Your Goals pulled out, Slipknot have officially announced they will not be playing at the Reading+Leeds festival 2008.

Heres a quote from an article at http://www.nme.com/news/slipknot/39090

"Slipknot have pulled out of this weekend's (August 22-24) Reading And Leeds Festivals following drummer Joey Jordison breaking his ankle.

The band issued a statement today (August 20) stating that they have withdrawn from the English festival, as well as previously-scheduled appearances at Austria's 2 Days A Week festival (28) and Germany's Area 4 festival (29)."

Also

Statement from Slipknot:

To Our Fans:

It is with huge regret and disappointment that we have been forced to cancel our imminent festival appearances at Leeds and Reading. The other night, Joey Jordison broke his ankle and doctors have advised Joey to stay off his leg for 4-6 weeks to prevent further injury or permanent and more serious damage.

We know you will be hugely disappointed and so are we. Cancelling

shows is never an easy decision and we apologize to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you.

Stay (sic),

Slipknot

No more Jumping The Fuck Up then :(

I don't see why they can't have their drum tech or even Lars fill in [I say Lars because Joey filled in for Lars in Download 2004]

Surely someone can play drums like Joey? Hmm

[Rumors for replacement so far-

Killswitch Engage
Weezer] [Very weak rumors]

Something smells smelly. A smelly kinda smell that smells..... smelly. First, the DJ shatters both ankles, a kid dressed up like Joey stabs people with a sword, and now Joey breaks his ankle?

Surely they could just get some other drummer to do it? I agree with BTTW, something definitely smells smelly...

Hahaha, that's hilarious, seeing as all my idiot mates were desperately trying to persuade me to see them instead of Pendulum!

I hope all the faggoty thirteen year old "maggots" are really disappointed.

I laughed really hard. They think they're too hardcore to admit it'd be disrespectful to play after what happened with the Katana wielding "maggot".

tss you suck so fuckin much. just becuase slipknot's music is aimed at a younger crowd doesn't mean it isn't as good and "i hope all their fans are really dissapointed" WTF why. you freak!

...But they do suck. It's just some guy screaming to thirteen year old boys with generic metal riffs playing behind him. Also their drummer isn't that good.

Yeah, but that's your opinion. I'm pretty damn disappointed, so I'm gonna have to make do with Feeder instead...or not. To be honest, I think they would have been an extremely entertaining band live - obviously you would beg to differ.
Most excited for the Manics though, so here's hoping they don't pull out too -_-

So why can't one of their other 2 "drummers" fill in? You would think after 4 albums they could easily fill in as a normal drummer and not be there just to bang on trash cans.

Woah woah woah! Slow down, yes Slipknot may not be that good, but Pendulum? Fricking hell dude, you really do suck.
