Lamb of God recording new CD

2008-08-15 by ninjuice | 24 Comments
Metal band Lamb of God has started writing and recording new material for their next album. It is scheduled for release in February 2009 and will be produced by Josh Wilbur (best known for his work with Steve Earl).

Drummer Chris Adler says that

Quote:
We are excited change things up this time and work with Josh. We’ve never stayed in one place too long, and the evolution continues. There is an aggressive shift in the material and our approach. The bar has been raised.

An extensive world tour will follow production of the album, beginning with a support slot for Metallica. For tour dates and more info, see:

Hopefully this will sound closer to As the Palaces Burn but I'm not counting on it. Sacrament was ok.

I hope they incorporate more of the hardcore elements present on their early albums, but I doubt they will. They'll probably continue to get more melodic, and boring.

As the Palaces Burn is one of the most solid metal releases of this decade. I'd love for them to be that good again.

Sacrament was a good record, fun listen. But lamb of god have yet to release a perfect record, meaning all the songs need to be good and listenable like for example Killswitch's 'Alive Or Just Breathing'. Lamb Of God's records usually get boring half way through.

They did on their last album.

This will be a highlight of 2009 for sure.

let's see if you start actually paying attention when you listen to music

Lamb of God's one of the extremely few metalcore bands that actually displays not only technical talent but compositional talent as well. i'm pretty doubtful they'll get any better than they've already been, but it should be a good release regardless

the_wizard, what on earth makes you think i was talking to you?

Sacrament was their most adventurous so far, and i think, their best. Ashes of the Wake is great too, though

As The Palaces Burn was really badass. But Ashes Of The Wake got me into LoG, and if you ask me, there isn't a single song on that album that lacks anything whatsoever. This Message Edited On 08.17.08
