Just jizzed in my pants a bit!

I thought everyone had already heard these?
|
| |
Not me...awesome!
|
| |
I'm sure a lot of people did but I didn't see the news story so why not post it, you know?
|

Holy balls, Lotus Eater is so good.
Edit: Both are a shitton better than I thought they would be. This restores my hopes for Watershed (that Heir Apparent kinda crushed a while back). This Message Edited On 04.20.08

Thanks for posting them. Awesome songs, especially The Lotus eater.
|

These weren't in the news because unofficial leaks aren't news. Porcelain Heart isnt very good but the other song rules.
|
| |
The humming at the beginning of Lotus Eater was pretty unexpected as was the part around 5:45 where it's just like straight poppy drums, but a nice twist. Anybody know what was up with the talking at the end of that song? A concept album again perhaps? Porcelain Heart wasn't quite as good
|
| |
Best album of 2008! hahahaha
How anyone could doubt this album will be solid is beyond me.
|
| |
Best album of 2008? I think that it is a little early for that. If they cut out all of the filler time then maybe, but this Opeth we are talking about and they won't.
|
| |
Both songs are great, but I have higher hopes for other songs.
|
| |
Not very good
|
| |
I've never listened to these guys but I just listened to lotus eater and its not to bad I might have to give these guys a serious listen soon
|
| |
I had WAY higher expectations for these songs. Lotus Eater was great until that BTBAM keyboard or drum section during the middle. Porcelain Heart was just average to me. Hope the rest of the songs are much better or grow on me. Damn I wish Lopez and Lingren were back.
|
| |
I thought that keyboard section really added to the mood.
|
| |
am i the only one that liked Porcelain Heart more?

eargasm

When did Michael Akerfelt join Between the Buried and Me?
Seriously though, Lotus Eater was good but really seemed like a different band...thus this album might actually be really good.
I enjoyed Porcelain Heart much more than i ever enjoyed any Opeth song i think...ever...especially on a first listen.
Really enjoyed the drumming in both.

Awesome!!
|
| |
Sputnik metal community just filled the cup.
|

Are you guys actually retarded enough to compare that Yes-y passage to BTBAM? Christ, the 'metal' community here is too juvenile for words sometimes.

I did as well actually, I thought I was the only one lol whew...
|
| |
Did anyone else notice how the main riff in Porcelain Heart sounds a LOT like The Grand Conjuration?

Yeah, plus that section fucking rules.
|
| |
Man, Porcelain Heart is pretty mediocre by their standards, but The Lotus Eater is good.

It was a joke and I don't see these guys having that much filler.

Dude, everything these days sounds like BTBAM. Get with the times hahahaha. They are the most influential band EVER!

opeth have drifted way off my radar recently, but hearing these made me bust out blackwater park for another listen.
if the rest of the album is in a similar vein to these songs, i'll be reet happy!!
|
| |
i was kidding about the btbam thing but i thought the two songs were really good and actually gripped me the whole time unlike most opeth.
I'm actually excite for the new album now.

no one cares about this news

I thought the keyboard part was closer to Dream Theater than BTBAM. This Message Edited On 04.21.08

So good, I actually like Porcelain Heart more than The Grand Conjuration, and the old school prog section in The Lotus Eater is great. I'm not sure if I'm more excited for this or Blue Lambency Downward now...

Someone commented this on youtube, I don't know a whole lot about either band, but this seems right to me. The big thing though (at least for me) is that they still sound like Opeth, but noticeably different. and...

I'm really looking forward to this. I feel like this might just be the album for that will make people that enjoy Opeth, and like them quite a bit, but don't love them (me) really love them.
|
| |
wow. so good.
|
| |
The certainly need time to get under my skin, but I like what I'm hearing!
It is also a lot less repetitive (think The Grand Conjuration).
I can't wait for the album to hit the stores!

Shut 'er down!

wow, blast beat+clean vocals is cool

I was actually thinking that as well.
