MxTabs In 2008???

First there was Chinese Democracy...then there was MxTabs:

As we continue to move forward with the closed alpha “rebirth” version of MXTabs, this version of the MXTabs blog has seen a reduction in posts. This post is to officially announce that this MXTabs Blog (the one you are reading now) is no longer going to have regular site updates, as these site updates will be posted on the “Rebirth Blog” which is available to alpha testing members of the site.

If you are not yet an alpha tester, you can apply to be one at http://rebirth.mxtabs.net

Alpha testing is currently limited to U.S. users and we are only allowing a limited number of users on the early alpha site. We’ll post an announcement again in this blog, however, once we have taken off the requirement to have an alpha login.

This said, we will be posting any official MXTabs news and press releases on this blog. It just will no longer be used for regular site updates.

Please note that to better allow us to focus completely on the new site, comments have also been disabled on this blog as well.

For those of you waiting on a “launch” date - we consider the site to have already launched in it’s earliest iteration. We’ll be continuing to add additional features to it, as well as let more people to access the site. Expect everyone to have access in early 2008.

When they said summer, they meant Southern hemisphere, of course.

Ironically, Vladimir Putin was just named Time's Man of the Year. Now we have ReichXTabs.

When I was first learning guitar, I used to use mxtabs all the time, until it was shut down. But by then, I was good enough to where I didn't need to use the "training wheels" of guitar playing. Regardless, having the site back up would still be neat.

MusicNotes' site, MXTabs.net -- a relaunch of the old site, whose assets MusicNotes bought after the site shut down -- plans to charge users about $5 for a download of a professional tab;
Wait, what?

The Alpha testing sucks atm, the only songs that anyone can look at are green day and their ilk, i'll be impressed when they get the rights to display more.

Didnt their front page logo once read "COMING SUMMER" or something along those lines?
