Bring on february! Love it.

the GOATS have returned. The title track kicks ass and im stoked for the record. I don’t think there’s much left to say. Their body of work speaks for itself. If you’re not excited for this record then what are you even doing lol
| |
All other metalcore bands are back to the drawing board
| |
Great song.
But on a side note, given how much this site loves Converge, I wanna know what would happen if they turned full butt rock lmao either this site would implode or the "not ALL butt rock is bad" arguments would start.
| |
Why would one of the most consistent bands in metalcore change their fundamental sound 30+ years into their career?
What a weird thing to think.
| |
Slaps
| |
"Love Is Not Enough" on the eve Valentine's Day, lol.
| |
fuck yes
| |
@Vert - because it'd be funny and I'm a fan of chaos lol
| |
A platypus does have characteristics that convey chaos, spot on.
| |
Well Failure Forever and Flower Moon are basically alt rock and I dig em so 🤷♂️
| |
All jokes aside I really should jam their discography soon. I think I've only heard 3 of their albums.
| |
One of the most consistently awesome discogs ever for a band that’s been around as long as they have
| |
Love the music video
| |
Song rips.
| |
best band of all time
| |

It’s honestly ridiculous at this point. Adding another notch on the scoreboard. Most bands would kill for a single classic and converge has multiple
| |
How?
| |
how what
| |
Fuck I wish drums were always mixed so well
| |
They sound way more punchy here than they did on Dusk for sure.
AWLWLB is still probably my favorite production job Kurt has ever done, that album just sounds so goddamn perfect
| |
The last 3 songs hovering around the 4-5 min mark along with Jacob saying the record keeps ramping up momentum has me confused. I would’ve normally just thought one of them was a Dusk in Us/Thousands of Miles Between Us style “ballad”, but now im thinking they’re all gonna be a lot more dynamic than that. I know they played the last track live, and that it’s very likely going to be a single, but I don’t really wanna listen to it. These guys have proven themselves so many times over so many years. They could just say they’re dropping a record in February and not say anything about it and itd still be an instant pre order.
I’m thinking about getting another variant. I have two of each of their previous records (besides Halo ofc) so I guess I’m looking to keep that going.
| |
hype as can be
| |
Song is fucking sick. That fill with the rototoms is filthy
Can't wait for the album!
| |
one converge record to rule 2026
| |
oh boy, that could mean two albums named Love Is Not Enough in my favourite albums library.
| |
Kurt’s leads in the middle of the track are so fucking sick, definitely my favorite part of the song.
I’m really wondering where Jacob is gonna go lyrically. Bloodmoon was moody as hell and mostly just vague gothic imagery, definitely a step down from his usual lyrics. Thematically this song is so much more direct, im liking what im hearing. Hope the rest of the record follows suit
I’m also confused on the Doom in Bloom situation, I know they’ve said that they have more songs that didn’t make the cut, and it would be very strange to be playing one of those live. Either we’re getting more not long after this drops or they renamed it.
| |
Ot itll be tossed onto an ep like Beautiful Ruin or Eve
| |
I’m ready for the deluxe edition
| |
"One of the most consistently awesome discogs ever for a band that’s been around as long as they have"
Can't think of another close. Norma Jean? They still started 7 years after
| |
Never mind it was ten years before good lord
| |
Zao
| |
Yeah true, I was thinking bigger names. Zao is still somehow unknown to a lot.
If Extol ever releases new music they'll be up there for me too
| |
I finally found the full track times and it’s gonna be like 31 minutes long, which is fine?
I was literally thinking immediately after hearing this that the world needs some sort of collaboration between Kurt and Scott Mellinger. They have very similar styles.
| |
if this is the starting point and the album is going to 'ramp up' sequentially, how batshit is the end going to be
| |
I'm also just glad that a new album means tours to promote and I really need to see them live considering the only time I saw them I barely count because how miserable the venues heat was that made me leave their set midway. Show was only 10 bucks thankfully but the venue was legit like 100 something degrees inside and you were just drenched from even just standing watching. They were fun as hell but I definitely needed to bounce as it was killing me. Hoping they tour here again and at a good venue this time.
| |
what a banger
| |
Waiter! More bangers like this please!
| |
Just... how????
| |
"I finally found the full track times and it’s gonna be like 31 minutes long, which is fine?"
perfect length tbh, especially if this ones gonna be as balls to the wall as they say
| |
You Fail Me is only 35 minutes and it's a masterpiece. 31 minutes will be just fine.
| |
Goated take^
| |
Dude we haven’t had a succinct converge record in like 20 years, it’s all been like 17 tracks. I’m hype. Bring back the speed, bring back the blasts, bring back the chaos!
| |
I caught these guys with Cave In and Botch on the latter’s farewell tour in Boston. Absolutely amazing show and seeing Nate Newton slap two sets in a row was insane. Definitely worth catching these guys if you can and they’ll definitely tour the shit out of this record.
| |
Hellllllllll yeahhhhhh couldnt be more hyped its been soooooo long
| |
I've mentioned it before, but I work with Zao's bassist Marty. He's a cool dude. He's a boss so he's lazy as fuck, but I like him as a person lmao.
| |
good stuff
| |
Rules.
| |
@Hawks, we getting new Zao anytime soon?
| |
They've been doing a lot of shows, but he hasn't mentioned anything about a new album yet.
| |
Zao's original lineup formed in my hometown but they've been through so many lineup changes over the years that there's not a single original member. last one was the drummer Jesse and I still see him around town every once in a while
| |
^speaking of working with bands, would love to be a fly on the wall and watch the process of Converge recording an album
| |
The drummer for sublime lives in my town but that's about it.
Some of my extended family is also close friends with Jacoby Shaddix lol
| |
chemistry within this band is on another level.
| |
it’s honestly unreal how well they all work together. They’re all the best at what they do, all in the same band.
I would fucking die for converge tbh, goated band and it’s not even close. idgaf what lame “uh sputcore much??” bullshit anyone says they’re just the best. God will weep when these guys call it a day. Hopefully they still got more gas in the tank, I wanna see them doing this shit for at least another decade.
It’s honestly unbelievable they’re this fucking old and still outclassing bands half their age.
| |
I mean if the album is supposed to ramp up over time and this is the opener? Boy howdy.
| |
I will be seated.
| |
I have a feeling this record will be one of their best.
| |
I really liked the dusk in us but honestly the production wasn’t very good on it. This sounds way more dialed in.
| |
Super excited for this. I liked Bloodmoon but I never really felt the need to return to it, so I'm happy to see they've returned to their old style. As its so short, I'll probably wait for the whole album to release though.
| |
bad.
they've done some great things, but this site swallows whatever they do whole and always has. Hopefully there's some bangers on the album though.
| |
I have a random vibe that this could be their final record.
| |
Nah I think they’ve said they’re basically going to continue doing the shit until they physically can’t because they love it so much
| |
Yeah, I don't think so lol.
| |
I'm definitely hoping this is as full-throttle old(er) school verge as rumoured and indicated by the run-time (don't want to spoil it by listening... yet. I might do tho as the urge is growing).
| |
yeah this sounds great
| |
does anyone else hold off on listening to any singles until the entire album is released?
| |
I do like 99% of the time since everyone insists on dropping 3+ singles these days. I get its for the streaming game but I'd rather listen to the full body of work most times and can wait
| |
yeah that is my mindset. rather hear it altogether and not get my expectations morphed before i hear the full package
| |
i really got to check these guys out. have their disco and the ratings looks great on here
| |
Idk if this band is gonna be your thing brother lol.
| |
uh oh ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
| |
vocalists for me really can make or break things in genres like this. i might have heard an album or two years ago though
| |
I can definitely vibe with the title of this album, stoked
| |
The two singles for this album have me beyond hyped, strong Jane Doe/You Fail Me vibes. This album is gonna be killer.
| |
"strong Jane Doe/You Fail Me vibes"
I don't get those at all, it's more in vein of AWLWLB and dusk in us to me. also not really a fan of the second single, it's one of the their weakest songs imo. the first one was a banger tho
| |
I would absolutely settle for AWLWLB 'redux' at this point. I fear expecting anything more would only lead to disappointment
| |
