Dude has completely lost it
|
| |
One man disaster trainwreck show.
|
| |
Ayo wtf are these songs lmao
|
| |
This dude has eroded every scrap of goodwill he ever had 3x over
|
| |
Woah. That dude needs help.
|
| |
He’s always been pretentious but at least the music was good.
|
| |
If I wanted to watch a fat bearded dude flail around in bed I would set up a mirror in my own room. What the hell is this.
|
| |
Dude needs help
|
| |
“Dude needs help”- hopefully that’s what this Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is doing and I hope it’s through a professional and not self-conducted by Max himself. I listened to the first song and man was that something. If there’s ever a custody battle for kids, this will be used against him.
|
| |
Middle class Kanye arc or???
|
| |
never liked this group. This dude is so convinced people care about his media.
|
| |
One time I paid Max and Sherri $250 to write and record a song for me and my now ex-girlfriend and it was the best thing he wrote since the s/t
|
| |
"hopefully that’s what this Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is doing and I hope it’s through a professional and not self-conducted by Max himself."
This was in the description of the latest one.
"Note From The Desk of Sandy Weintraub, LCSW
BMF of 69
To My Lil' Peons, I mean NEO CBT Freshman Class,
This is going up an hour or two late and, like with any Say Anything cancelation or delay of promised services due to craziness the blame rests solely on Max Bemis. And I want him to fucking FEEL IT.
He was apprehensive about posting this due to the "personal nature" of the song.
.... yup.
....really.
I said "This is how Exposure Therapy works, numbnuts. Lots of people have issues with their brains. Lots of people get emotional about their kids. It doesn't give you an excuse to fuck up OUR business because you're trapped in a suicidal ideation loop."
He went really still and, oddly, didn't cry this time. (Progress?) We sat there for a bit and then I noticed that for the entire silence he had been cock-eyed, eyeing the butterknife with which I was happily halving my buttery banana loaf.
Ha! The poor little mutant was just hangry!
...I hope."
|
| |
Definitely being done by himself. This is a legendary crashout, I've never seen anything like it.
|
| |
Jfc what even is that word salad
|
| |
dude needs to wear his mental illnesses on his sleeve more so yall will be nicer.
|
| |
How embarrassing
|
| |
on the surface, i am perfectly ok with this, and hope he can recover from whatever the fuck's going on with him
|
| |
i'm also no stranger to seeing bipolar people (which i'm told he is) enthusiastically jumping into a project without much planning, or bipolar people using art to navigate the many strong, fluctuating emotions they feel thorough their life, even if it doesn't come out the best in quality
given the truly abhorrent shit i witness people do and say on a regular basis, i think being cringe is fine
|
| |
and also also, i saw the comments being like "this is so divorced" well yeah, he just got divorced lmao u thought he wasnt gonna have feelings about it
|
| |
Damn dude needs help he lost his mind
|
| |
Historically cringe band/singer
|
| |
^^^^this x1000
|
| |
These songs sound like parody songs LMAOOOO
|
| |
Max has been off his rocker since 2015. This has been going on for at least a decade. The man needs help.
|
| |
"If I wanted to watch a fat bearded dude flail around in bed I would set up a mirror in my own room. What the hell is this."
lmao
|
| |
all these years on the site and even during my pop punk phase I had never heard a Say Anything song even tho I was aware of their existence and drama surrounding max, sherri and jesse
what the fuck was that first song
|
| |
Say Anything is garbage outside of “is a real boy” and even that album is iffy
|
| |
This dude is the embodiment of the "how do you do fellow kids" meme. I heard part of his set while walking past the stage at Furnace Fest this year and could not walk fast enough.
|
| |
Idk. In Defense of the Genre was solid, especially the first half.
|
| |
Guess I know the dudes totally lost it when he is using his own illness as a gimmick and framing it as some sort of therapy. Not surprising as Max has been exploiting people forever now.
|
| |
Don’t think I’ve ever felt sorry for a bed before but here we are.
|
| |
Bless his heart

Way to post the most pseudo intellectual unhinged bit of word salad in a thread about unhinged word salad in the form of bad songs
Moral of the story, we already had a jotw and don’t need another lmao
|

“As a therapist”

Ok Johnny
|
| |
Nah that ain't nearly what Johnny would write.
|
| |
Hard to watch. Hope gthis guy got the help he needs.
Also hope Sherri and their kids are fine.
|
| |
I loved Anarchy My Dear. It was cheesy as fuck, but had some catchy stuff on it.
|
| |
I just wanna say F@£§§%$!"!""
|
| |
how do u say that
|

As a licensed psychologist...I ain't saying shit. I have my personal and "professional" opinion about this dude but it would be completely antithetical to my profession to offer any explanation for this dude's behavior
But, yikes, man. This is certainly one way to process.
|
| |
do licensed psychologists frequently invoke their credentials in order to not render an opinion on something
|
| |
It's moreso to inform folks that therapists and clinicians aren't supposed to make definitive statements regarding SPMI in other people who we have no contact with. Armchair diagnosing is a big no-no. I get this dude is very open about his mental illness, but therapists also need to show restraint when commenting on shit like this.
Just because we have the ability doesn't mean we have the responsibility. If that makes sense.
|
| |
what the absolute fuck is this
|
| |
This is the most uncomfortable music experience I've had in a while. I don't feel like it's something the public should've been privy to.
|
| |
damn, the hostility towards professionals :[
|
| |
"Just because we have the ability doesn't mean we have the responsibility. If that makes sense."
it does make sense, I too am somewhat of a licensed psychologist.
|
| |
Somewhat.
|
| |
Yeah, I dabble in professional psychology.
|
| |
emo Tom Hardy...really?
|
| |
This is not the “music” I was hoping would come out of their divorce but probably the “music” I should’ve expected.
21 straight days of these releases?? That’s a lotta bit questionable. I get this must be therapeutic for Max. But has the thought ever occurred to him maybe not do this? I guess not huh
|
| |
This is not therapeutic lmao
|
| |
There is a charitable reading to this. The guy is doing an experimental and therapeutic hybrid project taken to some musical and emotional extremes. Like this guy is clearly going for it with these vocals and there are some crushing riffs to be. But its all just...not good. I hope this helps the guy somehow, but maybe it shoulda just stayed in a journal?
also is it bad that this is my first time listening to Say Anything?
|
| |
i only know that one song with hayley williams because hayley williams is in it
|
| |
@Rolling Girl - This should NEVER be anyone's first exposure to Say Anything lmao. Their debut is a classic, but if you choose to give it a shot, stay the hell away from their live version.
|
| |
that's it, I'm jamming the self titled now.
|
| |
Christbait is right. I messed up. I thought I was referencing things Bemis himself had said happened in a 10 page pdf before Oliver Appropriate, but he had not claimed to to off of meds. Not a mistake that I would have made had I just steered clear of commenting on it.
|
| |
No one enjoys hearing you talk as much as you, huh?
|
| |
"there are some crushing riffs"
I listened to 2.5 of these videos and the instrumentals pleasantly surprised me at times but unfortunately the production is God awful.
|
| |
Strange hostility indeed.
