Eye of Mensis drop debut LP

2024-10-31 by Brabiz | 14 Comments
Experimental metal group, Eye of Mensis has released their debut record, "Dousing The Flames" after 5 years of delays.

Releasing just in time for Halloween, "Dousing The Flames" showcases a blend of each and every metal sub-genre, wrapped in a dark, unnerving atmosphere which draws inspiration from various pieces of horror media, most notably the Silent Hill series, and analog horror aesthetics.

Lead vocalist & bassist Brandon Bzduch describes the album as "a sonic nightmare" which is expressed in its concept album format, and heavy use of noise and ambience.

Tracklist:
1. Tulpa I: The Umbilical Eye
2. Weeping Virus
3. Unburdened
4. Simulacrum
5. It Fixates
6. Ropes of Writhing Hell
7. Beneath
8. The Corpse Eater
9. Dousing The Flames
10. Tulpa II: Caerdroia

"Dousing The Flames" is now available to stream / purchase on bandcamp.

My entire reason for existing these last 5 years has been this god forsaken album. So naturally, we’re already jumping into a sequel record.

Hope whoever listens to this digs it, it’s been a hell of a ride getting this thing finished. Between in-fighting, financial issues, massive life changes, and some deep wells of depression, it feels fantastic to have this completed and out there. FINALLY.

Streaming release is next month, not sure the date yet. Waiting on updates from online stores. Hope to do some physical runs as well

Nah, the album story is more so inspired by movies like The Empty Man, and When Evil Lurks, sad to say

@Brabiz I relate to some extent with that first comment, and it sold me on listening to this. Will check it out when I get a chance!

How do you have a band called Eye of Mensis and not a single BB song tho

Cuz it’s an off-hand reference. Like, the brain of Mensis from BB sure, I took that and changed it to Eye, implying it’s a vagina.

My band’s name is vagina.
