New vocalist for Decapitated 2024-10-12 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 21 Comments | Polish death-groove metal group Decapitated have announced another change to their lineup, with vocalist Rasta Piotrowski leaving the band this week. The change means that aside from Vogg, the lineup of the band has completely changed since the end of the past decade, with bassist Pawel Pasek rejoining in 2021 and drummer James Stewart becoming a full time member in 2020.
However, along with this announcement comes news of who will be performing with Decapitated going forward. Mors Subita vocalist Eemeli Bodde has left the Finnish melodeath group in order to take the gig as vocalist for Decapitated, with Mors Subita to announce their own new vocalist in due course.
This isn't the only new face fans heading to Damnation Festival will be seeing though, as original vocalist Wojciech "Sauron" Wąsowicz will play a one-off show in November, performing The Negation (2004) in full. The band are also currently working on their follow-up to 2022's divisive Cancer Culture with more details set to come out in 2025.

Leaving aside the album's 20th anniversary, it's no wonder why The Negation will be played live in its entirety, it could have been done at any time.
| | | i guess you could say it couldn't be... negated
| | | i think this is good news, vocalist wasn't the worst ever but i didn't like his style.
| | | interesting, looking forward to the next album with the new vocalist.
| | | Never listened to these guys, anywhere I should start? I’m eyeing Nihility and Winds of Creation because of the avgs but totally open to whatever.
I’ve really neglected DM this year. I don’t think I could name ten death metal records this year.
| | | winds of creation owns
| | | I’ll start from the top then! Thanks smok
| | | Winds of creation owns [2]
| | | Winds [3]
| | | unless you are like me (based) and prefer a groove and atmosphere focussed sound in which case i would recommend you Blood Mantra. don't let yourself get discouraged by the average, its just a number.
| | | Winds of Creation is GOAT Decapitated agreed. Nihility is runner up
| | | Winds [4]
Been listening to this album multiple times a week for 6 years... doesn't get old
| | | Unless you are like me (based) and prefer a groove- and atmosphere-focussed sound, in which case I would recommend you Organic Hallucinosis. Don't let yourself get discouraged by the number of Winds-sayers, it's just a number. [2]
| | | Winds [5]. It's their best pure DM record by far and manages to be brutal, technical, playful and catchy at the same time. Timeless classic.
But I would also suggest to go with Organic Hallucinosis next. Awesome album and the best of their more modern sounding stuff.
| | | vocalist number 4, let's see how this run goes
who even is this band anymore lol. from 'Winds of Creation' and 'Nihility' to 'Cancer Culture.' yeesh.
| | | all three 4.0s
| | | First two albums are great. Mors Subita is maybe the middest metal band I'v seen live. Perhaps the new singer is better fit for the band, but who knows because he mainly utilized half hearted melogrowls in MS. Not much is left of Decapitated but it's always nice to dee Vogg ripp through some of the earlier stuff.
| | | Organic Hallucinosis is my favourite, the song writing is very original and groovy, production kicks ass, and to me the vocals fit just right. The song post organic is fucking orgasmic. Winds is great but I always get bored very quickly because it's quite monotonous, but maybe I'm an idiot. Nihilty is awesome but I find the songwriting a bit blocky and stiff. The Negation is actually really good but as a whole package missing something. Has some great songs though. Everything after Organic I find quite bad. Carnival has some alright parts but there's something very off about them from this point on, RIP Vitek, guy was an all time great. I saw them live with Suffocation a few years ago and they weren't that fun.
| | | "Mors Subita is maybe the middest metal band I'v seen live"
just wait till you have the pleasure of seeing Kataklysm live
| | | lmao
| | | I'm gonna be real here: I think a lot of the reason their later material didn't connect with me was because of his approach as a vocalist. I know they've definitely lost a lot of consistency past their early era, but dude was just so middle of the road for me, personally.
Hoping the change in personnel kicks them in their ass and gets them to push out some more interesting records.
