New Haley Heynderickx Album 2024-09-20 by Brendan Schroer EMERITUS | 9 Comments | Indie folk singer-songwriter Haley Heynderickx has announced her long-awaited second LP Seed of a Seed, due for release 1 November. Additionally, she has released her second single "Foxglove".
Heynderickx released the record's title track back in late July, but hadn't revealed at the time that the album would bear the same name. Below is a snippet of her Instagram post breaking the news of both the record and new single:
"Hi!
Finally the time has come. I am allowed to say it. Album is around the corner and will be released November 1st - but today I get to share a special tune with you.
We present to you foxglove, shared via dance (and whittling) through the eyes of my friend @evanbenallyatwood on a Super 8 camera.
I wanted to ask: how do we return to lives immersed in nature, when most of us live in the city? The irony is not lost on me, to write from a place of deep silence and dark greenery of the pnw and then spend most my life on the road. I hope to bridge these worlds someday."
The album will be released a whopping six (close to seven) years after her incredibly promising debut I Need to Start a Garden, which racked up several accolades from critics upon its release -- including appearing on countless year-end lists for 2018. I kept debating on what title to use since Haley's last name is so long, so I just went with my gut on this one. In any case, I can't wait to hear the full album! I Need to Start a Garden is still in regular rotation for me

I haven't seen anything indicating otherwise, so I believe so. Still a pretty wild name though, and I had to consult some interviews to make sure I was pronouncing it correctly. Funny enough, it's just pronounced "hendrix"
