Really thought they had gone on an upswing with the last 2 albums, was hoping for more. Saw them live a year ago and it was class so I'll need to see them again in Glasgow

Glad to have seen them live, they killed it. Schizophrenia-Beneath-Arise are all timeless.

This is weird, because I remember reading recently, Andreas Kisser saying that the band will take its time before a new album arrives.

1989-1993 Sepultura were at the top of their game, RIP.

Absolutely essential thrash listening and roots is fun for what it is, rip

Max, Iggor and Andreas should just tour once as Sepultura. Supposedly it was Paulo who was the one who wouldn’t do it. He’s easily the least important member.

Roots is fun, but uneven compared to the three albums that preceded it.

I’d say Roots was a bit bloated rather than uneven, there’s a normal length consistent album in there

I personally didn’t like it but a very important album

I'll echo what others said, Roots is too long and indulgent but also highly innovative. A 4.5 album delivered in a 3.5 package.

enjoyed the green era just as much as the max era, if not even slightly more.

I never completely warmed to Derrick's vocals but Dante XXI and Machine Messiah had some great tracks, also what I've heard of the last one sounded good too.

Respect to Sepultura for many years of thrashing, Chaos AD will forever be one of my favourite metal albums.
