Live Earth Creator Wins Nobel Prize

2007-10-12 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 13 Comments
One-time US Presidential candidate Al Gore, who shot to fame last year when he helped organise the phenomenally successful Live Earth concert series, has been co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Gore, who also won an Oscar this year for his documentary An Inconvenient Truth, masterminded the concert series which featured 150 acts on seven continents over a 22-hour period.

Nobody's quite sure what it has to do with peace, however.

Al Gore can suck my fucking cock. He didn't win the award for inventing the internet why does he get it for ousting the manbearpig?

This is dangerously irrelevant to Sputnikmusic. I mean I know he founded Live Earth but that's kind of pushing it.

That's a good point. What does that really have to do with peace?

("Me too"-ing final comment)

(South Park reference)

....

(Snide comment about above formula)

(2 cents with confusingly off-beat analogy)

Not exactly an environmentally friendly concert though. To get around, the bands got to travel in private jets - private jets use upto 300 times as much fuel as commercial airliners.

Live Earth was the most important event in history. If that's "dangerously irrelevant" then I guess you don't care about the apocalypse and it's your fault we're all going to die. Killer.

thank you for setting that idiot straight splat.
