Semisonic announce new album

2023-08-02 by Brendan Schroer EMERITUS | 11 Comments
American alt-rock trio Semisonic have announced via their social media that they will be releasing their long-awaited fourth album Little Bit of Sun on November 3rd. Additionally, they have released their new single "The Rope".

Semisonic are primarily known for their iconic 1998 single "Closing Time", and were a fixture of the power pop genre in the mid-to-late 90s. However, after the band's third album All About Chemistry, they took a long hiatus from recording and touring; during this time, frontman Dan Wilson became a prolific songwriter behind the scenes, writing for the likes of Adele, John Legend, Phantogram, and many more. Semisonic officially reunited in 2017, and have been playing shows ever since.

Little Bit of Sun will be the band's first record in 22 years. Check out the video below to listen to "The Rope":

Bit cheesy but I kinda like it, sounds kinda like an old Refreshments tune or somethin. Could use a solo or key change or general pinch of extra color tho and it really do be sounding like a Red Robin ad

I don’t know about this album but Feeling Strangely Fine will always have a special place with me. One of the great albums of 90s alternative.
