Stevie T covers Lil Pump

2023-05-01 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 33 Comments
YouTube guitarist Steve Terreberry, also known as Stevie T, has taken it upon himself to re-work the much-mocked Lil Pump track "Pump Rock x Heavy Metal" from his latest effort Lil Pump 2.

In a video released a few weeks ago, Terreberry reviewed the track and decided to try to redeem it at a later date. Recruiting Tallah vocalist Justin Bonitz to complete the cover, the full song was released this weekend (30 April).

Stevie T's solo album Album of Epicness was released in 2015 via Artery, though since then he has stuck to releasing standalone singles.

Tallah released their sophomore album The Generation of Decay in November via Earache.

Lil Pump's latest effort Lil Pump 2 was released via Soundcloud in March.

Well Colton the good thing about his recent songs is he doesn't do vocals on them so he's just playing the instruments. With his Slipknot style parody he recruited Rappa Nui to impersonate Corey Taylor, and he's done several songs with Anthony Vincent on vocal duties. Definitely playing to his strengths in that regard.

I honestly kind of respect how committed he is to remaining unfunny in the same specific ways despite an abundance of criticism. dude just doesn't care

His cover reminded me of a less good version of this:

Hes okay. I used to watch his videos a small amount but never really found them entertaining. Kind of seemed more like he was being weird as a way to blow off anxiety and depression which he ended up confirming in a video eventually.

Considering how many of these videos he's made, I'm kinda surprised that it took this long for him to reach Sput. Anyway, I used to watch his videos pretty often (usually while intoxicated/drunk)... his humor may be pretty cringy, but his guitar skills are legit. Interesting juxtaposition I suppose, lol

Nik Nocturnal's up there too. Tired of seeing that guy's face in all his thumbnails. I miss when YouTube thumbnails were just random moments in a video.

PunkRockMBA still has the worst thumbnails out of any music Youtuber tbh (and some of the worst content, for that matter)

Same! I've enjoyed his work since the ThatGuyWithTheGlasses days, and he's easily one of the best creators to come from that whole mess. His Trainwreckords series kicks ass

Maybe its the zoomer in me, but my favorite music youtuber is BradTasteInMusic. He has that sweet sweet buttrock crossover appeal, plus his feuds are gold.

PunkRockMBA is irritating af however, I cannot stand how he uses the word "objective"

metal trenches and some select reaction channels like geebz, charismatic voice and tank the tech have honestly been some of my favorite music discussion channels over the last 2 years.

"Not a fan of Tallah then?"

Never heard of them. I come as rather aggressive with that earlier comment and feel bad but i know if i watch the video again and hear that rudimentary genre stereotyoe shit ill feel the same way again. Stevie may be a great guitarist but has the humor of a 7th grader and the musical taste of one as well.
