Babymetal's silent mosh'sh pit 2022-11-27 by Fernando Alves STAFF | 34 Comments |
Japanese pop-metal act Babymetal have designed a rather peculiar sectioned-off area for their two shows at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition on January 28th and 29th, 2023. If you have kids and "don't have confidence in your physical strength", don't be afraid, you can watch your favorite divas perform in the silent mosh'sh pit.
Attendance at this pit are encouraged not to yell, clap, talk loudly, or engage in any other behavior “that may be an inconvenience to other customers". In addition, there's an official dress code:
"On the day of BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE - performance, you will be provided a Savior Mask during admission. This Savior Mask is the official dress code for the show and you will be required to wear it on top of your own mask upon entering the venue and throughout the entire show. Wearing the Savior Mask will be mandatory up to when you exit the venue after the performance has ended. Please note in advance that those who do not comply to these rules will be asked to leave.
We have set aside an area called SILENT MOSH’SH PIT (standing area) which is a designated area for those who have small children, who are not confident in their physical strength, etc.
Please refrain from activities such as shouting, cheering, talking loudly, or any other behavior that may be an inconvenience to other customers.
The guideline for the prevention of COVID-19 in "Notice Concerning Performances by Amuse Group (Basic Policy and Guideline for the Prevention of COVID-19)" has been updated. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, please refrain from talking/singing/cheering/shouting loudly. However, singing/reacting at a level where only the person next to you can hear is acceptable. For all other important notices, please refer to the ‘Notice Regarding Performances by Amuse Group (Basic Policy and Guidelines for Prevention of COVID-19” at the following link: https://www.amuse.co.jp/info/20201001 "

Jokes aside, that’s what serious states do to uphold the health of their citizens.
In Hellas for example, the above would not fly.

what is the demographic for this
|

I got kicked out of a metal festival in '03 for goin crazy in the pit - next day I couldn't wear the 21 & older bracelet to buy alcohol haha.
as long as they don't gaze at their shoes or pogo on imaginary trampolines - I'm better off there in the chillpit. for the sake of most would-be moshers as well as myself lol plus, that was 19 yrs ago and I doubt I could (or would even want to) tear it up as emphatically as back in ze day

This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen lol
|
| |
@prnzokoshiro Were you even drunk?
|
| |
Notrap, are you really going to talk down to someone who is likely your age with joint problems for wanting to see their fave band without having to deal with someone moshing right next to them? Come on, bruh, we're metalheads. Not braindead crowdkilling hardcore fans

The Japanese culture is really considerate of others
|
| |
Kinda goofy but I don't see a problem with having sections. Some of their fans are young kids in Japan and they'd get slammed in a pit or by constant moving crowds. So that's cool that they're taking those kind of fans into consideration.

This is perfectly nice and cool and anyone making fun of it can go take a long walk off a short roof top for all I care.
|
| |
Nice, its always cool to have options, even metal elitists have their own section.

puss energy

BabyMetal sucks. Sounds like all the worst parts of power metal done by little Japanese girls.

The most sardonic thing here is the unnecessary use of $10 words.

only a certain mindset can see this as condescending and indeed those who have it have spoken so

can you guys work harder at not ruining every thread on this website?

After enough comments reiterate the same couple of points, it’s a corpse. Sooo, you could start another discussion or contribute to an already abandoned one (or still extant one should there be any). Up to you, as you can easily sidestep anything else.
Being crotchety isn’t making anything better
