Silversun are Scared Together

2022-07-11 by Voltimand | 21 Comments
LA indie-rock band Silversun Pickups have released the new single "Scared Together" from their recently announced upcoming offering Physical Thrills, slated for release on August 19th. The album is produced by Butch Vig, who produced the band's previous record Widow's Weeds, along with album artwork by Lawrence Azerrad.

On "Scared Together", frontman Brian Aubert has to say:

"You never know what can bring two people together. Sometimes it’s something light and comfy. Sometimes it’s a shared love of some kind of totem or idol that is dear. Other times, it’s something a little more dreadful. But whatever works I say. To each their own. This song is about becoming close and intimate with someone through hardship. Being thrown into something quite frightening brings out some shared qualities that connect them…"

Additionally, the band plans a nationwide tour in support of the album, with dates to be announced soon.

I already like this song better than the entire previous album. Seems like they're bringing back the energy again.

Video freaked me out for a sec because I thought all the members got face tattoos/piercings

Oops, looks like it still needs some editing. This is what happens when you try to write while having COVID.

Dig the new song, interested in the album

The demo version of Lazy Eye I got from Limewire years ago was vastly better than the final version.

@GreyShadow - It’s possible I got used to that slower tempo vs the faster pace of the final version.

that riff is not good but I appreciate that they're bringing back some energy

I still maintain that Widow's Weeds was their best since Swoon though

Couldn’t really get into anything else of theirs other than “Swoon”, but this was a pretty good track.

Yeah I fall into the 'this isn't good' category. It sounds like a "bad-ass" royalty free song or something.
