Canadian metalcore outfit Counterparts have announced that their upcoming album A Eulogy for Those Still Here will release October 7th. The announcement comes alongside a new single, "Unwavering Vow", in which Brendan Murphy continues to use the microphone as the world's healthiest documented outlet for anger.

One of the most consistent bands out there. This song gives me END vibes at times. Slaps hard.

nu-metalcore is a plague

who the fuck thought generic metalcore would be better with angsty muttering/rapping and more braindead chugga chugga bits

So excited to have this lineup back. The last couple albums have been really solid but the moment-to-moment songwriting feels stronger to me in albums like Tragedy Will Find Us.

Yes its a predictable song for them, but they're really dialed in at this point with the sound they want. With Jesse back on the axe I feel like the new one is gonna be different than YNYA 3.0

My Ticket Home is still a band? Did I read that right? "To Create A Cure" isn't good and I still liked it. That was 10 years ago though so good for them.

This is decent. Its so weird, I cant think of a single reason why but nothing these guys have done since Tragedy sticks with me or makes me wanna come back. But then again the prevailing opinion is that Tragedy was their weakest and I still spin that weekly. Their new drummer is crazy though (and not a pos)

"I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound."

Because those albums have better songwriting imo I feel like there's a lack of memorable moments on the last two albums. It's sort of just a wall of noodly guitar work. They're good albums but they don't stick with me.

"They keep getting heavier and more dialed in. I'll never understand those who prefer Tragedy and TDBHAH over this sound."

Tragedy has its moments where its really awesome, but yeah they've pretty much surpassed it easily. YNYA and NLTL both have better instrumentation, production, and better song writing. Songs like Cherished, Thieves, and Arms Like Teeth take what they've been doing on Tragedy/Hell & Home and improve tenfold on those elements.
