|

Watched HYPE! a couple weeks ago which is a doc on the Seattle music scene through the ages kinda thing, and of course the late 80's early 90's was a big part of it
|
| |
What the fuck. Massive RIP.

|
| |
"Give "Sing Backwards and Weep" a read if you get the chance."
agreed. Couldn't put it down.
Man this guys solo work is so good. Bubblegum and Blues Funeral are some of my all time favorite albums.
|
| |
One of the most important pioneers in grunge. Huge RIP
|
| |
Only really got into him and ST in the past 2 years. Incredible voice and soul. Tragic loss.
|
| |
RIP Legend
One of the most unique voices in rock

What the actual fuck, too young.
|
| |
Holy crap, just listened to sweet oblivion Saturday. Crazy!!!!!
|
| |
That was sudden. I hope there will be more information.
RIP
|
| |
God fucking dammit
Always loved his deep gravelly voice every time it cropped up on Songs for the Deaf, been meaning to check Screaming Trees for eons too
Rest easy
|
| |
What the fuck.
|
| |
Same here Dylan, he always killed it when he took the mic on those early QOTSA albums. Heard Buzz Factory a long time ago but don't really remember it, and that's the extent of my Screaming Trees listening. I should absolutely make some time for them
RIP
|
| |
what an amazing voice
RIP
|
| |
This is a gut punch. Everything he did was quality. Mark’s first two solo albums got me through some tough times. If you don’t own them, get ‘em now and listen. They’re amazing.
Thanks for the music, sir.
|
| |
Unbelievable voice and somebody that didn't sell out. He did what he wanted at all times in his own terms. Legend!
|
| |
R.I.P.
|
| |
It really wasn't his time to go, what a great loss, i am speechless right now.
Rest in peace.
|
| |
Hard RIP. Amazing body of work, and way too young to be gone.
|
| |
Holy shit he was an amazing artist, shocked
|
| |
Real shock, very young to go, RIP
One of my favourite singers from the 90s
|
| |
Tragic news. I'm glad I managed to see him live in 2019, he just seemed that kind of artist that would go on forever. Rest in peace.
|
| |
Very sad news, he was an outstanding musician...
Rest in peace.
|
| |
Very sad news. Rock In Peace Mark.
|
| |
Tragic. A unique voice you couldn't mistake for any other. Seeing him a few years back was an amazing experience.
|
| |
'RIP big time
His work with QOTSA helped shape me' (2)
I don't actually know much (anything?) about his work outside of QOTSA tbh (should probably rectify that), but SFTD has absolutely been one of the most important albums of my lifetime
|
| |
His solo stuff and Screaming Trees are worth checking out.
That Mad Season album is incredible too though he’s only on a few songs.
|
| |
Huge RIP, unmistakable voice and such a talented man.
Time to jam SFTD in his honour.
|
| |
Mark is singing with Layne again < 3
RIP
|
| |
RIP, one of my favorites. Probably sequels from his covid infection..
PS: Protect Eddie. At all costs.
|
| |
Just figured out about his passing and it fucking sucks. Literally after I was done listening to Dear You I read the line and went straight to Invisible Lantern.

The Unforgettable Mark Lanegan

|
| |
Oh no, I did not expect this. Hard R.I.P.
|
| |
Man this sucks ass. Was just listening to 'Blues Funeral' and the 'Field Songs' album, days before passed away. R.I.P.
Those albums are still very overlooked, imo. If you haven't, go check them out.
|
| |
Mark Lanegan whole discography is overlooked. In my opinion, He has the best solo career, from all those big names that came from Seattle in early 90s.
I put him on par with Nick Cave as my favorite songwriters in the last 25 years.
|
| |
He was a better singer than songwriter…but his writing was still damn consistent all the same
|
| |
