RIP Mark Lanegan

2022-02-22 by cloakanddagger | 65 Comments
Mark Lanegan, best known as former frontman for The Screaming Trees, has passed away at the age of 57.

As well as his work with the Screaming Trees, Mark was also a highly prolific solo artist and a frequent collaborator with Queens of the Stone Age, appearing on every album from 2000's Rated R to 2013's ...Like Clockwork. He was also one half of the rock duo The Gutter Twins with The Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli.

Same here Dylan, he always killed it when he took the mic on those early QOTSA albums. Heard Buzz Factory a long time ago but don't really remember it, and that's the extent of my Screaming Trees listening. I should absolutely make some time for them

This is a gut punch. Everything he did was quality. Mark’s first two solo albums got me through some tough times. If you don’t own them, get ‘em now and listen. They’re amazing.

Thanks for the music, sir.

Mark Lanegan whole discography is overlooked. In my opinion, He has the best solo career, from all those big names that came from Seattle in early 90s.

I put him on par with Nick Cave as my favorite songwriters in the last 25 years.

He was a better singer than songwriter…but his writing was still damn consistent all the same
