Cool song, it's definitely still Slipknot haha.
| |
Pretty bad song. As a fan of their first 3 I appreciate that they're trying to bring back some of those early riffs & sounds, but this is boring. Guitar riffs I feel like I've heard 100x before, that same drum beat that somehow makes its way into every song and god, Corey sounds tired.
| |
Gonna have to agree with you on this one ^
| |
Song is ok. Chorus is pretty meh.
| |
Yeah the chorus takes the life out of this one
| |
Fucking awesome
| |
"Corey sounds tired"
lol what, he sounds great here
| |
Nah, his screamed vocals have become so one dimensional. I admit his cleans sound *fine*, but the hook isn't there for me in this one.
| |
Older sounding Slipknot mixed with some Stone Sour type chorus somehow works better then I'd expect. I dig it.
| |
Potentially hot take incoming IG, but man, I feel like every song this band has written since Paul died/Joey left has sounded exactly the same. This sounds like it could've been on The Gray Chapter or We Are Not Your Kind.
| |
^^^ very much agree
| |
"I feel like every song this band has written since Paul died/Joey left has sounded exactly the same. This sounds like it could've been on The Gray Chapter or We Are Not Your Kind."
TGC and WANYK don't even remotely sound similar so your argument falters there already
| |
This isn't good, and its frustrating because there's good elements to the song but a lot of it just doesn't work. That chorus is awful too.
| |
Song is messy as hell, along with the production, Slipknot by the numbers. But to say that every song they have written after the departure of Paul and Joey sounds the same is just ludicrous to me.
| |
Songs ok, I appreciate that they seem to be moving away from their All Hope is Gone/Grey Chapter sound. Much of it sounds like it could've been on Iowa to me, so pretty solid.
| |
Surprised the reception is so lukewarm. I like this track better than at least half the cuts on WANYK. Real solid and I keep expecting them to go soft/butt rock, but it ain’t happening
| |
Why does this artwork look like something SOAD would use
Solid song, not understanding the hate tbh.
| |
Song is ok but if it was released on WANYK it would probably be my least favorite track. While don’t think every song post Joey and Paul sounds the same the heavier, less experimental songs sound a lot less loose
| |
Song is boring, but I do enjoy DJ scratching and a chopped up Amen break in metal so +1 for that
Song would improve immediately without the chorus
| |
I’m shocked everybody either hates this or doesn’t care for it. I love this. TGC style chorus, S/T drums, chaotic guitar, and it actually has moments that the bass shine. I also don’t get how people think Corey sounds tired. He sounds amazing.
| |
Chorus sucks and doesn't fit the mood of the song at all imo
Rest is okay
| |
I should probably feel pumped up or something while listening to this, but honestly this is the first time in a long time where I absolutely do not care for a Slipknot track.
| |
Great song, love the passion from Corey on this one. Didn't think they'd sound this heavy again.
| |
"This isn't good, and its frustrating because there's good elements to the song but a lot of it just doesn't work. That chorus is awful too."
Pretty much, nothing more to add here
| |
You guys really liked Spiders and then talk shit about this one?
| |
Spiders was the best song off WANYK. It’s a fascinating song
| |
Song was not good.
| |
I dig, it sounds like a B side off the self titled
| |
Ughh that was whack, does anyone like the new masks?
| |
I didn't much like We Are Not Your Kind and this suffers from the same flaws.
Their heart is in the right place but for some reason, it doesn't work very well.
I think they should come back to shorter songs, this sounds like five minutes of random riffs written on the spot accompanied with a man who was forced to bark for ten hours in a row without being given any water and who has to improvise a clean melodic section when ordered to by a whiplash.
| |
cant tell of the album art is cool or horrible
| |
Great song dig the instrumental and the chorus, their last album was one of the band's best imo, so i'm pumped for this, although i will say i'm not a fan of the production. Not gritty enough, and nothing particularly special going on
| |
nice. theyre got an interesting production style since iowa. like theyre not using the most forward facing production techniques but it makes them more raw. this sounds like its out of 1990
| |
the production sucks. band desperately needs to reconnect with Ross again for an album.
| |
if they were to embrace the future, their sound could be insaaaaaane
| |
Song would be fine without that butt rock chorus
| |
that chorus blows indeed
| |
Yet another boring song by Slipknot...
| |
Sure the chorus isn't amazing, but this song is still a slap in my book. Slipknot has been on a roll lately.

grooves

slapknuts

slopknob

re: the comments on corey's vocals, those screams in the section with the blast beats and the ending are probably some of his fiercest since iowa/vol 3 tbh (along with solway firth and a couple of others from WANYK)
haven't really been into these guys in years but i have to admit they still can throw a rager which is more than can be said for many others
| |
I know the chorus is getting a bit of anti-hype, but I agree that almost everything else here is almost decent to better than great. I can handle a dud chorus or two if they churn out something even remotely close to their last album.
| |
It sounds slightly better live for some reason

This is the best Slipknot track in some time.
