Anyone else hear Parkway Drive "Sleepwalker" in the intro, and Maiden's "Trooper" in the guitar solo/bridge?
Fun song though. Everything they've done with the new singer I've been a fan of.
| |
Atrocious chorus + Trooper ripoff = bad song
| |
LMAO at that almost identical Trooper riff
| |
these dudes dont know how to write a bad song
| |
Yeah this rules
| |
"Anyone else hear Parkway Drive "Sleepwalker" in the intro, and Maiden's "Trooper" in the guitar solo/bridge?"
I hear both but wouldn't have noticed until it was called out
| |
Not really a rip-off. Sick new twists here. Epic song.
| |
That Trooper ripoff is glaring. Yikes. Band has been a whole lot of whatever since Common Man's Collapse, and this does nothing to change that.
| |
I really like this song overall. It's kinda different but it's really well done. The Iron Maiden part is kinda obvious but I love it just for how unexpected it is.
However that breakdown at the end has little to no connection to the rest of the song and is just obnoxious. "Hey look this is hard to play and has 0 groove".
| |
Hey, that's Veil of Maya. The endings of "Numerical Scheme" and "Vicious Circles" are intensely rhythmic and complicated, but some of their best closings
| |
Yeah the outro is amazing I love it
| |
these guys work better as a singles band
| |
Used to listen to these guys back in the [id] days but this is pretty generic and bad imo...
| |
Holy shit you guys weren't kidding they really do rip off sleepwalker and the trooper on this lmao
| |
apparently the trooper riff was a homage, so it was intentional, dunno about sleepwalking though
| |
I like veil of Maya. I don't like this song
| |
Now that I've been introduced to Frontierer... I can't take any other metal band seriously
| |
"apparently the trooper riff was a homage, so it was intentional"
Okay but is it an homage bc they got called out for it or bc it was intentional lol
| |
We'll probably never know lol.
Song is p fun
| |
that was alright i suppose but the trooper part was really unnecessary and forced
doesnt fit the song imo
outro goes tho
| |
This rules what is wrong with all of you
| |
Nothing these guys do will ever surpass common man's collapse.
| |
this is a really loose cover of the original Outrun arcade soundtrack tbh can barely hear the relationship at all
| |
This rules what is wrong with all of you [2]
| |
Yeah this is awesome
| |
Song was alright
| |
Kinda not enthused by this song, nor the fact that they're just releasing singles now without an album announcement.
| |
Apparently they scrapped an entire album in 2019
| |
well that was annoying
| |
The only part I'd want to come back to is the outro, and Veil has better breakdowns.
I really wish Okubo didn't take Mansoor seriously when he said "your riffs are like candy."
They started mixing in clean vocals with radio friendly choruses after that. Kinda just sounds like they toned down the indulgence for easier marketing to me, but hey, some people are really into this.
Less synthetic vegetables, more delicacy please.
| |
This song is all over the place tbh, not a fan of the chorus or the Trooper bridge
| |
Remember when they ripped off parkway drive and iron maiden in one song
| |
Hot take I was much more excited about those singles than the new album. I love Outsider and Outrun in particular.
| |
most of those songs are pretty good but this one is so bad lmao
