Wow...an Amity song about suicide...as generic and cringe as it gets.
Still, there is some promise for this to be a 3.0 maybe 3.5

this band getting worse and worse
|
| |
yea i don't think the words 'suicide' and 'cringe' should ever be mentioned in such close proximity to one another
song isn't great but the subject matter is anything but 'cringe'
|
| |
Song is pretty good, a lot better than a big handful of tracks on the last album
|
| |
this is a better listen than the vast majority of the utter garbage they have put out for years even if nothing special.
|
| |
"song isn't great but the subject matter is anything but 'cringe'"
No, but they way they use it certainly is
|
| |
They've had the same lyrical concept since Chasing Ghosts.
|
| |
Yeah dude overdosing is so cringe!
|
| |
"They've had the same lyrical concept since Chasing Ghosts."
the last time they sounded even tolerable as well
|
| |
Tbh it was all downhill from there.
LTOTM had some good songs tho
|
| |
Sounds like an Amity Affliction song. I feel like the brakes get put on every time on of their clean choruses come in.
|
| |
Song's decent. It's certainly better than the bulk of their recent stuff but doesn't really hold up to any of their early material.

it's got good energy. they've been pretty mediocre with a few interesting moments for the past few albums but Chasing Ghosts (and the album or two before it) are excellent

I love the needlessly low-tuned guitars in this, plus the little guitar leads in the chorus are cool. The Amity Affliction isn't breaking any new ground musically or lyrically with this single, but I don't think they were trying to? Suicide/mental health is something that needs to be talked about, even if it feels heavyhanded sometimes.

Ahren really needs to shave that caterpillar off

Im all for raising awareness for mental health and suicide but this band needs to find a new thing to fucking sing about. Lyrical content wise they have been milking this train for about 10 years and its all their songs are about, if its not about that then its "Smoooooke em if yaaaa got emmmm" . Write a love song, write an angry political song write something about embracing the good parts of life. When you have sung about barely anything else and 90% of your discog is the same shit repeated the actual message and good will behind it starts to lose effect and it feels disengenous or phoned in.
|
| |
Songs fine though, its bulk standard amity thats an improvement over some of the stuff on the last record

Liked these guys 10 years ago
