Midwest-based pop- and post-punk upstart KennyHoopla has released a mixtape with everyone's favorite omnipresent drummer, Travis Barker. SURVIVORS GUILT: THE MIXTAPE// features eight early-2000s throwback collaborations between the two, including previous singles 'estella//' and 'hollywood sucks//'.
KennyHoopla is set to open for Machine Gun Kelly on his upcoming full US national tour and also just announced his own headlining shows in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and San Francisco.

wonder how much this travis barker thing has diverted him. seemed like he was set to carve out a "emo bloc party" niche with that first single but this just sounds like all of the lame barker collabs the past few years

@point1 I was a little worried about that at first, but Kenny seems sincerely stoked on this sound. He also just made a facebook post saying he'll be coming out with more "indie" sounding stuff in the future, so this could have just been a fun opportunity.

liked all the pre-barker stuff, post-barker just sounds like any other pop punk imo

+1 for liking "How Will I Rest" way more than Barker material, but I'm happy to see him get more mainstream success in general so I'll deal. I hope he doesn't get complacent in this style though.
