Paradise Lost stream 'Ghosts'

2020-04-24 by Fernando Alves STAFF | 27 Comments
Iconic UK gothic metallers Paradise Lost are currently streaming the lyric video for 'Ghosts', the second single taken from their upcoming sixteenth album Obsidian, out May 15th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Stream 'Ghosts' official lyric video here:

Band states: "This song tips a cap to the goth rock music that was ubiquitous when we were teenagers. Even as young Death metal fans, a lot of that old 80's music is still very much the soundtrack of our early lives. Lyrically it's about being haunted by the past and a shallow belief in something you hope will destroy the demons."

Very subdued vocals in the chorus, but I dig the song

I love their roots, but for some reason I haven't been getting into the back-to-roots albums as much.

I was talking about not liking their back-to-roots albums as much as the previous stuff, but this isn't really back to roots at all, it turns out. This song is pretty good. Gives me more hope.

Agreed, this song isn't back-to-roots. I think it would fit well on their self-titled album.

The main guitar part in the verse brings the feels for mid-era PL for me lol

Same. But I also can't help but think that if this had the same sound/production as Symbol of Life, it would fit right in there too. Cool track. Very cool. Looking forward to the release very much.

When was the last time Katatonia, MDB and PL released a new record within a span of a few months? Had that ever happened before?
