Is this worth pausing Counterparts for?
| |
nope
| |
oh i thought this was the first one. man these guys are forgettable
| |
also wasn't worth pausing the working title for
| |
swiiiissparrannisssaawiiiiifiiiiiirrrrree
BURNIN ME UP BURNIN ME UP
adeemunsawyouisahighyouwahhhh
LIFTIN ME UP LIFTIN ME UP
| |
@Spec
Just once, just to see how it feels
| |
Lame.
| |
This is hysterically horrible.
| |
@Intothepit no doubt about it.
| |
Jesus both of the recent songs have been total ass
| |
Song would be better without the ass electronic elements
| |
Not as bad as expected imo
@JayEnder Agreed!
| |
Dude's voice came a LONG way. I can vibe with the pop elements.
| |
this band has sucked since wsmfy
| |
Trash song. Sold out as expected.
| |
Common Courtesy was good
| |
Honestly the only thing that feels out of place here to me is the electronic elements.
But that's also because mid '00's 'core is my favorite iteration of the style. This was radio-friendly but still fun. I just wouldn't rec it as their best.
| |
This would have been great like 10 years ago but it's been done to death by this point
| |
@Winsomniac At least Horse the Band is playing some music again.
| |
song is ass yea but the music video is cool
| |
Oof. Pass
| |
My theory that every scenecore band turns into modern BMTH is still pretty accurate.
| |
Electronic stuff ruins this but remove that and it's a standard ADTR song.
| |
This band has and always will be 100% ass.
| |
I liked these guys 9 to 11 years ago. When I was 18-20 years old. Good memories looping Homesick and playing SKATE on Xbox 360. I don't imagine as a near-30 year old man there's much for me to enjoy here? Are they still angst-ridden and making music for teens? At some point their sound has got to evolve as they evolve as musicians lol.
| |
yikes
| |
This might be worse than degenerates tbh
| |
both singles have been pretty forgettable. I've never loved anything this band has put out, but they've never been this bad
| |
better than degenerates imo but certainly not great. pretty sterile. miss for those who have heart/common courtesy
| |
I really hope we get some more tracks like Right Back At It Again on the new album.
| |
Very obviously tops Degenerates, though almost anything would, but nothing to write home about. Just ADTR descending into mediocrity
| |
Sad cause these guys used to be the cream of the crop when it came to writing catchy, energetic pop punk songs.
Side note, how is WSMFY their second lowest rated album?
| |
Better than Degenerates for sure but not super impressive. Not gonna write this new album off yet though - I didn't like Paranoia and Naivety very much either but Bullfight, Bad Vibrations and the rest of that album were still pretty good
| |
bullfight is a great song, that surprised me
| |
Uninspired.
| |
this is ok i guess but these bands should stop looking at what bmth are doing and start paying attention to poppy
| |
"Welcome to the eye of the tiger, GO!"
Just realized how awful that pre breakdown callout is, jesus.
| |
awful pre breakdown call-out for an awful breakdown
| |
"Every scenecore band turns into BMTH"
Norma Jean hasn't, bless them.
| |
This literally sounds nothing like BMTH to me.
| |
yeah i dont think the BMTH comment makes sense. but the electronics are completely out of place loll
| |
Norma Jean has never been scenecore ya boob
| |
They were lumped with UO and ACB and shit like that back in the day tho
| |
I feel like that’s cause all three were Christian
ugh I regret starting a genre debate sorry everyone
| |
lmfao this band. the intro is typical adtr shit and then they sound like every other heavy gone modern pop band at this point
| |
"swiiiissparrannisssaawiiiiifiiiiiirrrrree
BURNIN ME UP BURNIN ME UP
adeemunsawyouisahighyouwahhhh
LIFTIN ME UP LIFTIN ME UP"
That's eerily accurate; exactly how I felt when I heard it for the first time!
Anyhow, the song itself is fine. It's certainly better than the last song they released, but I have next-to-no hope for their new record due to the fact that they've signed with Fueled By Ramen.
| |
he's not even saying words LMAO
| |
I never really got into these guys in their prime, but I'm really digging this. I mean, it's pretty poppy and the breakdown isn't very imaginative, but it's just a nice song.
| |
Common Courtesy was good, agreed.
They've been tooting emasculate farts ever since. pop garbage, sold to the youth.
| |
"Is this worth pausing Counterparts for?"
This is a legitimate question I'll be asking everytime a semi-heavy band puts out something new.
Common Courtesy is the only ADTR record I've genuinely enjoyed front-to-back. Interested to see if that will ever change.
| |
this is some of the most uninspired garbage i've heard in a long time
| |
Dumpster fire incoming.
| |
What kind of pretentious album title is "You're Welcome" anyways?
| |
it's just an album title lol
| |
True but its kinda funny, and makes me think they want us to thank them for such trite music
| |
