The Truth Behind Threatin

2018-11-14 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 23 Comments
Investigations by metal publication MetalSucks have revealed that Jered Threatin, whose solo band toured the UK to no fans on the back of a faked fanbase, label, and management, is in fact former Abigail Williams bassist Jered Eames.

Eames first gained traction in the extreme metal world with his black metal project Saetith, based in his home town of Missouri - live members included former Cradle of Filth member Gian Pyres and ex-Dying Fetus drummer Duane Timlin. After Saetith ended, Eames spent a short period of time with Abigail Williams in 2010 (confirmed by Ken Sorceron to have been roughly a week). It has also been revealed that he has become estranged from his family, having not spoken to his brother Scott
since 2012.

Jered has since taken to Twitter to make a cryptic boast about the experience, stating "What is Fake News? I turned an empty room into an international headline. If you are reading this, you are part of the illusion". He has yet to expand on his comments.

Peak irony, this guy was a bassist yet his album doesn't have any audible bass until you turn off the electric guitar

A lot of folks don't like MetalSucks but you have to give them credit where it's due when they really put the work into their investigative journalism.

Reminds me of the last band I was in:

The singer claimed that the band had interest from Epitaph Records and that once we formed, they'd pay for a photoshoot and for our demo tape, that actually did happen and I didn't pay a penny for either.
I also received emails from staff from Epitaph pre and post-recording, about gigging and tours in Europe and about the prospects of signing to the label, each email with the beloved Epitaph mic and staff name at the end.
It was at our first gig that the vocalist arranged, miles away from where we all lived where virtually nobody turned up apart from the bands, the vocalist going AWOL before our 'set', that things were looking a little sketchy. We subsequently fired ended and quite soon, all correspondence with Epitaph vanished. It was then that we experienced anagnorisis and saw the light for the very first time.
This is what happens when you start/join a band with effing psycho's. Some people are so deluded in their dreams for rockstardom that they fabricate entire world where other hapless musicians and others get sucked into.
TD;LR: Be careful when starting bands with lunatics gentlemen!
