Farewell to Montserrat Caballé 2018-10-06 by ZIG | 8 Comments | Spanish Opera singer Montserrat Caballé passed away this Saturday, at Barcelona, Spain. She was 85.
Acclaimed as one of best soprano singers ever, Caballé is best known for singing a wide variety of roles, mainly the works of Verdi, Rossini, and Bellini. Perhaps the most iconic moment of her career was when she sang the 1992 Summer Olympics' theme "Barcelona", a song from her widely known duet with Freddie Mercury.
