Great song. They've changed their sound quite a bit, I'm digging it.
| |
Oh cool, I was hoping CatDog gets a spin-off.
| |
That clip was lit
| |
Song is cool despite the stupid kids choir
| |
Song is great, the title is a bit cringy tho.
| |
Digging the track names. Reminds me of older Behemoth albums. Song rules too, of course.
| |
Good tune
| |
“LOL Christianity is so dumb!!!” schtick
I mean, it is Polish metal...
| |
It's a gimmick, but they know how to use it to their benefit. Buuuuut, they are starting to tire the premise, I think.
| |
Nerg be looking like Denzel Curry on his latest album cover
| |
Child vocals need removed. Shite
Liking how Orion is being given room to shine again
| |
Gonna slay like always.
| |
lol that song title
song is cool though never been a huge behemoth fan but will check the full thing
| |
nergals a douche songs good tho
| |
Nah bro Nergal is the man. So happy I got to see them live 2 months ago.
| |
Visually, this is just as cringey as everything Dimmu Borgia has done since 2008. Song was okay.
| |
I think I'm the only one that thinks the child vocals add to the creepy factor. Song rules, you're all a bunch of downers.
| |
Why do people cringe so much these days?
| |
Right DungeonBoy? That word is so oversaturated now it isn’t even funny. Thirteen year olds faced with anything slightly out of the ordinary/quirky sucked all the meaning out of it
| |
cute little song here
| |
a step down from the brilliance that was the satanist on both the video and the songwriting level.
| |
god = birb
| |
is Darski still in this?
| |
It's really different from anything they've put out before, nonetheless it's really cool. All praise the mighty Behemoth!
| |
I WANT TO LISTEN TO THAT SHIEAT
| |
rowhaus knows
praise be upon de birbkind
| |
listening to it again without looking at the video makes me appreciate the music much more.
| |
the title of this song is really trying to scare me away but im so amped to hear it still
| |
Yo what’s up with that production
| |
sounds killer
| |
indeed
| |
"Yo what’s up with that production"
might just be youtube but I think it sounds about the same on spotify so idk. Some of it does sound weirdly muffled, though, and definitely not as clear as other tracks on there.
| |
scrapped evanescence album title
| |
Am I the only one who thinks the intro music sounds like Underoath
| |
I wish more bands were as vox centric as these guys.
| |
And yes, the intro sounds like Underoath.
| |
lol that song title sounds like a Slipknot song or some shit.
| |
haha, yeah it does actually
Tracks is killer though, pumped af for this after how good The Satanist was
| |
it was a pretty good track, yeah. Nergal has been taking more risks since he came back to music, and i like that. as far as i know, a children's "choir" has never been a part of a death metal song before. on the other hand, i dont think it was a good artistic choice. but im sort of stoked to see what other surprises they have in store.
| |
Song is great, lots of The Satanist vibes, I also kinda digged the children choir vocals. The video was pretty cool as well, however I'm a bit iffy on the song title tbh. Still looking forward to the album
| |
Damn this track fucking sucks. I thought they would only get better after The Satanist but they're back to being very not good.
| |
"as far as i know, a children's "choir" has never been a part of a death metal song before."
Septicflesh used a children's choir in their album Titan
| |
Meh. Album title is alright. Song is alright.
| |
wow, i missed that album title. that is terrible.
| |
Album title, song title, child choir. All fucking horrible.
That said, this song was a pleasant surprise. I haven't listened to these guys since the Apostasy and I was not expecting this sort of change in style, in a good way.
| |
Nergal is trying way to hard this time to be “controversial”
| |
Controversial about what? This is pretty par for the course for Behemoth in content and style...
| |
I can't be the only one who thinks this is disappointing.
Sub-par riffs, guitars that are far too low in the mix, silly child choral chanting and overall just a lack of memorability.
| |
How he’s very adamant about his religion and the perception it brings, makes a big deal about it on instagram, seems to get a kick out of offending people, especially the Polish government lol.
| |
I'm with you Pleb, this song is rubbish.
Exhale, that's nothing new...Behemoth and Nergal have been doing this for well over twenty years now...it's probs safe to say he's just doing what he's always done, and this is no more """"""controversial""""" than he's ever been
| |
I'm generally quite a big fan of the band, hence my disappointment.
Mind you, Blow Your Trumpets disappointed me when that dropped as the first single for the Satanist.
We'll see how this new record goes, I guess.
| |
Don't take this the wrong way Pleb, but I rarely ever see you disappointed in something so it kind of surprises me whenever I see it. I'm not in love with this but hey, I hardly like to go off of singles unless they are absolutely horrible (ala new Unearth).
| |
Haha yeah man, I'm generally quite easy to please when it comes to metal.
Dunno, just wasn't feeling this one.
| |
Yeah, I wasn't giving you any shit or anything. I just rarely see you be negative which is honestly is a real compliment. Hopefully this is one of the weaker tracks and the album rules. The Satanist really was a fantastic album
| |
I think the Satanist was so effective as it really felt like a genuine attempt at some sort of redemption for Nergal.
given what he'd been through prior to the albums release, the album felt so authentic and sincere.
| |
I'll admit I'm not this bands biggest fan so I'm not aware what went on with Nergal throughout the years.
| |
He had cancer man.
| |
Oh shit, that's fucking awful! Glad he was able to beat it I'm guessing considering you're saying he had it and not has. Reminds me of Chuck from Testament with his cancer and somehow he sounds better than ever.
| |
He had a successful bone marrow transplant I believe, glad he pulled through.
| |
Same here, nobody should have to suffer through the hell that is cancer.
| |
Its sort of funny, a lot of biblebangers were saying god gave him cancer for being all blasphemous and whatnot. Then he beat it and just went right on sataning.
| |
You just can't stop nergal
| |
polish gov tried to put him and his fiancee in jail for blasphemy, then he got leukemia, then somewhere in there said fiancee and he split. SO he almost went to jail as a martyr for free speech, almost died, and lost his hawt pop star girlfriend all in like two years or so? And from all that we got his most pissed record, so I've decided to forgive him all the silly Satan woo woo given I think he kinda deserves to piss on the polish church at this point. And if the next album is decent who cares if we need to sit through more Watain-levels of s00per seri0us nonsense to get it.
| |
I'm not usually one for childrens choirs in metal but they use it sparingly enough here that I actually like the effect it brings
Nergal passing on the Satan to future generations
| |
ave sathanas
| |
Akephalos, shine thru me
| |
This children's choir doesn't even touch the one in POD's Youth Of The Nation
| |
I Loved You at Your Darkest
Black Metal Death Metal
| |
Nergal has done more interesting things, but the song and video are good.
The children wasn't a bright idea.
| |
lol bloc
| |
Also the addition of children in the song explains the absence of titties in the music video
| |
did anything happen wit this band's rape accusation
| |
"I Loved You at Your Darkest
Black Metal Death Metal"
I mean it's meant to be taken as coming from Lucifer/Satan in case that wasn't obvious
| |
@bloc there were a pair of tits in there.
| |
Damn really? Excuse me while I re-watch the vid on my phone in the bathroom at work...
| |
i was really not into the child choirs but everything else was good
| |
" rape accusation "
No clue what you're even talking about.
| |
I think it was around when that twitter accusation about Maynard came out. A similar tweet was made about Behemoth as well
Nothing ever came out of either and both seem to have fizzled out at this point
| |
Someone made a post on twitter saying that the band members drugged her, tied her up and then raped her
| |
pretty good song
| |
p good song, dont like the child vocals
| |
The Satanist is such an outstanding fucking album that I cannot wait to hear this. This is exciting news.
| |
I really dig the child vocals
| |
only thing i found when looking earlier was an accusation from like 2001 that got them kicked from some tour? And Nergal made some weirdo kvltbro comment about pervy hedonism? Idek.
| |
I'm sure if you dig hard enough you can find an accusation about any popular artist.
| |
wait nvm found it it supposedly happened in 2006?
http://sofa-king-cool-magazine.com/more-rape-allegations-against-maynard-james-keenan-and-behemoth-come-forward/
| |
I don't believe the accusation about Behemoth was true
| |
as if it were/could be proven one way or another tho?
| |
Title is bad, track is mediocre, and everybody complaining about their satanist 'shtick' doesn't understand Behemoth.
| |
Oof. The children on an otherwise good track.
| |
I think the children choirs are an interesting choice.
| |
Yeah it's not too bad.
I would like to complain about the drum sound. Hope it sounds better on the album.
| |
Song's ok, though not on the same level of anything from the previous record. I expected the children parts to be much worse than they eventually ended up being tbh
| |
I think people have a hard time liking new things
| |
to me it's a pretty interesting track
| |
I'm surprised at how much flack the children are getting tbh
It's a rather minimal part of the song and it's not done in a typical child choir kind of way. They're basically just yelling and they sound almost possessed which is fitting imo
| |
i would like a normal choir more dunno
| |
That would sound cheesier to me idk
| |
Idk how they sound possessed, theyre just yelling. Adults would have sounded much better imo.
| |
Why do choirs ruin every song? Has anyone done them right?
| |
Get them Parkway Drive gang vocals
| |
@adolf idk children yelling satanic slogans sounds different than adults doing it. It isn't something you usually associate with childhood so I guess that's where it comes from for me
| |
Yeah i guess. Maybe i would like it better of they sounded more unhinged.
| |
Song is fucking lit and the kid's choir was a stroke of sheer genius.
| |
You're all over the place today, artis. I love it.
| |
Gay
| |
fucking finally
| |
artis's enthusiasm makes me happy. hail satan m/
| |
i dig it
| |
you have to.
| |
"Look! We are evil and satanic, Fuck jesus btw!"
God they're trying way too hard.. God=Dog sounds like something a 12 year old who no longer wants to be forced to go to church every sunday would write.
Still pretty a pretty good song.
| |
Some of y'all take this band way too seriously
| |
It might seem like pseudo-edgy stuff to some who arent from Poland, but over there the church has a lot more influence than in, say, the US. I mean, Nergal almost went to jail for blasphemy.
| |
I do believe his intense disdain for Christianity is genuine, but at the end of the day Behemoth, and Nergal more specifically is an entertainer. He enjoys provoking for attention and it has helped Behemoth gain their current level of success. The guy is a showman, and a really successful one at that.
| |
Like a megachurch pastor. Just with a more positive message.
| |
ov vinyl and the sales
| |
eh nergal has the added benefit of constantly being hounded by the government tho, so I've always counted that as part of his over-exuberance for his shtick.
| |
I tried getting into Nergal's music in the late 90's - late 2000's and it was hard, his music just seemed like a Nile rip off. I'm from Poland so since my relatives who know I love metal always send me Behemoth shit even though I didn't really like it, but Behemoth is basically our greatest export... But The Satanist and now this song have captivated me in a way I never was before by his music. I think he's finally matured as an artist, and for everyone complaining about him blasting Christianity for 20+ years, these evil cunts have my homeland in a stranglehold. I hope Nergal goes to his grave shitting in Poland's disgraceful puritanical mouth, the more he triggers their government and turns attention to what they're doing to my country the better. Christ bless him!
| |
Really enjoyed this. Could do without the child chants, but they don't ruin the song by any means. Looking forward to the new album.
| |
yeah that one that came out around the maynard accusation. i also found that one from like 2001 and nergal's response was pretty sketch and lame.
| |
new album. new album. feel the hype. the hype is real
| |
