it was a pretty good track, yeah. Nergal has been taking more risks since he came back to music, and i like that. as far as i know, a children's "choir" has never been a part of a death metal song before. on the other hand, i dont think it was a good artistic choice. but im sort of stoked to see what other surprises they have in store.

Mind you, Blow Your Trumpets disappointed me when that dropped as the first single for the Satanist.

Don't take this the wrong way Pleb, but I rarely ever see you disappointed in something so it kind of surprises me whenever I see it. I'm not in love with this but hey, I hardly like to go off of singles unless they are absolutely horrible (ala new Unearth).

I think the Satanist was so effective as it really felt like a genuine attempt at some sort of redemption for Nergal.

It might seem like pseudo-edgy stuff to some who arent from Poland, but over there the church has a lot more influence than in, say, the US. I mean, Nergal almost went to jail for blasphemy.

I do believe his intense disdain for Christianity is genuine, but at the end of the day Behemoth, and Nergal more specifically is an entertainer. He enjoys provoking for attention and it has helped Behemoth gain their current level of success. The guy is a showman, and a really successful one at that.

eh nergal has the added benefit of constantly being hounded by the government tho, so I've always counted that as part of his over-exuberance for his shtick.

I tried getting into Nergal's music in the late 90's - late 2000's and it was hard, his music just seemed like a Nile rip off. I'm from Poland so since my relatives who know I love metal always send me Behemoth shit even though I didn't really like it, but Behemoth is basically our greatest export... But The Satanist and now this song have captivated me in a way I never was before by his music. I think he's finally matured as an artist, and for everyone complaining about him blasting Christianity for 20+ years, these evil cunts have my homeland in a stranglehold. I hope Nergal goes to his grave shitting in Poland's disgraceful puritanical mouth, the more he triggers their government and turns attention to what they're doing to my country the better. Christ bless him!
