note that adidon is the name of drake's forthcoming clothing line with adidas
so every time someone googles it they'll see a picture of drake in blackface...just fucking tanked their brand
|
| |
is it offensive for a black dude to wear blackface
|
| |
only thing im missing is why pusha hates drake so much ?
|
| |
Rip Drake
|
| |
that picture isn't allegedly real, it is real
|
| |
Not to mention Drake’s wearing a shirt with Jim Crow on it
|
| |
Yeah, it's been proven by multiple sources by this point that that picture is real and not photoshopped in the slightest
|
| |
Yeah I'm pretty sure the pic is real
|
| |
If You're Reading This It's Too Late For Drake To Have A Career
|
| |
That is really Drake in the pic, unedited, no photoshop
That literally ends him before the song even begins lmao
|
| |
No one has any idea whatsoever, very very interested to know the context as well, don't think there is ANYTHING that can make it okay tho smh
|
| |
lol blackface
|
| |
Jesus Christ. The picture is from a photoshoot from a pro-black clothing line. It was taken out of context. Look up Too Black Guys. Push used it because it looks fucking crazy out of context.
With that being said, yea Push fuckin scraped Drake across the pavement.
|
| |
Oh that's my bad then, quite a few of my friends have been talking to me about all of this stuff and they all said nobody knew the context, I've been busy so I didn't look it up myself. Jesus Christ I have a life : /
|
| |
why hip hop sucks in '18
|
| |
"don't think there is ANYTHING that can make it okay tho smh"
What would be so bad about it
|
| |
Okay so I just looked it up and that Too Black Guys shit is utter bullshit lmao, AND the photographer is a white dude, so... Nah still super fucked up
@Drifter the fact that the photographer was white and he's wearing a Jim Crow shirt is bad but I'm not saying that from an offended standpoint, I'm saying more that it vastly undercuts Drake's authenticity and I don't see how he'll be able to argue that it doesn't
|
| |
'note that adidon is the name of drake's forthcoming clothing line with adidas
so every time someone googles it they'll see a picture of drake in blackface...just fucking tanked their brand'
its gonna do jack shit, a brand from probably the biggest name in hip-hop over the last decade isn't gonna die off one diss track against him
if the asap bari allegations didn't tank vlone for the longest time then this comparatively miniscule event won't do anything
if jerry lorenzo being a homophobic shithead didn't tank fear of god, this won't do shit
it will be interesting to see how drake's new collabs do though, this won't harm it at all but i haven't really heard a lot of hype for this anyway although i'll guess we'll just have to see what the collection looks like, certainly compared to kanye, pharrell, tyler and even travis scott it's not got a lot of buzz
|
| |
I didn't even know Drake left Nike until this track dropped lol
|
| |
best way to handle this is to own it, my opinion.
'I'm fucking DRAKE, bitch, i don't give a fuck about blackface, son-- also i'm canadian lmao fuck off yanks'
... maybe that's why i'm not in the PR bussiness.
|
| |
yeah this will all do exactly nothing to stop drake from doing well, and from doing well with adidas
100% guarantee that all of drake's fans don't care
|
| |
You guys know that rappers do this to generate buzz for their portfolio, right?
|
| |
woah really?
|
| |
man I love hip hop
|
| |
"I'm saying more that it vastly undercuts Drake's authenticity"
He already did that himself by starting his career on a teen drama tv show.
http://degrassi.wikia.com/wiki/Jimmy_Brooks
|
| |
I don’t understand why that wouldn’t bother you. Not the Degrassi thing, but that should probably bother you too
|
| |
"Okay so I just looked it up and that Too Black Guys shit is utter bullshit lmao, AND the photographer is a white dude, so... Nah still super fucked up

I agree to an extent, but I don't know if the photographer has really anything to do with it. It was a photoshoot for a black-owned clothing brand that probably just hired a photographer. The whole point of Too Black Guys is to take those offensive images and turn them against their original meaning, so I think that, if context was provided, the photo wouldn't be that bad. Drake is black, he is able to do whatever with the oppressive images/symbols used against his race however he pleases. However, without context it looks pretty bad. But, I'm a white guy, so I can only say that much and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I'm sorry.
Track still slays tho, I honestly thought Duppy Freestyle was pretty good and cutting but holy fuck this shit is wild.
|
| |
Very good points Broseph
Drake has come forward and said the picture has nothing to do with Too Black Guys, which as far as I know is a different story than what the photographer has said. Also fuck Drake for addressing that first instead of the allegations of being a deadbeat?? Weak as hell imo
|
| |
"100% guarantee that all of drake's fans don't care"
I can vouch for that
|
| |
Oh shit, are 90's hip hop beefs back? It's not for real unless someone gets shot.
|
| |
yep drake got fucking bodied confirmed
|
| |
finally someone killed that jew wanna be white PoS
|
| |
Is he making fun of a guy's struggle with multiple sclerosis?
|
| |
If people are still wondering why Pusha went this hard on Drake, it's because Pusha dissed Drake on his track 'Infrared' off Daytona, then Drake hit back in his own diss track 'Duppy Freestyle'. That led to this track.
A classic case of grabbing a tiger by the tail, imo.
|
| |
bunch of diagonal ass niqqaz
|
| |
"Is he making fun of a guy's struggle with multiple sclerosis"
yup.
|
| |
fucking bodied. holy shit.
Where does this rank on the list of all-time most brutal diss tracks?
|
| |
A black man calling out a lighter-skinned black man for a decade+ old photo in blackface that has an easily explainable satirical purpose and making fun of people with debilitating physical diseases
NEWS.
|
| |
yea but he also has a fucking kid with a porn star
|
| |
what porn star
|
| |
when u got the dude ur beefing putting out a formal statement I think it's safe to say u won
|
| |
"so every time someone googles it they'll see a picture of drake in blackface...just fucking tanked their brand"
or rather, just fucking promoted the brand to the entire world which up until this point had no idea it existed
|
| |
"Oh that's my bad then, quite a few of my friends have been talking to me about all of this stuff and they all said nobody knew the context, I've been busy so I didn't look it up myself. Jesus Christ I have a life : /"
cringe
|
| |
"Also fuck Drake for addressing that first instead of the allegations of being a deadbeat?? Weak as hell imo"
drake is worth $100 million dollars and counting, remind the crowd what you have done with your life
|
| |
drakes phone https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dec4UwMVMAA01OD.jpg
|
| |
I haven't done shit with my life but the point is I'm not a deadbeat dad lol
|
| |
just a deadbeat in life in general got it
|
| |
are you implying that it's OK for drake to be a deadbeat dad because he's worth $100 million?
|
| |
Chuck is there a Drake task force defend Aubrey at all costs thing you’re a part of or what’s the deal
|
| |
no theres a people that care about celeb personal lives thing i have that makes me cringe harder than most if not anything ESPECIALLY when they try to act like they are useless when in fact they are clearly many many multitudes more successful than the internet basement dwelling whiner will ever be
|
| |
"are you implying that it's OK for drake to be a deadbeat dad because he's worth $100 million?"
im implying WHO GIVES A FLYING F U C K
there could not be a thing less relevant to your mine anyone on this websites lives than the relationship between drake and his fucking kids
|
| |
twitter and fans idk
|
| |
heres a thought - instead of projecting your insecurities about your own life by making cringeworthy comments about successful people many times removed from your social circle IRL, do something about your own lives such that this subconscious motivator for hate driven by jealousy diminishes or disappears
fini
|
| |
i mean, people wanna know the character of the person they listen to. being a deadbeat dad knowingly and not even acknowledging it is pretty bad. sure, it's not sexual allegations like ameer vann or jesse lacey, but it's still relevant.
also you can't say nobody cares, when millions of people are obviously talking about it.
|
| |
Chuck defending his fellow canuckian
|
| |
Maybe you should take shit less serious idk
|
| |
"heres a thought - instead of projecting your insecurities about your own life by making cringeworthy comments about successful people many times removed from your social circle IRL, do something about your own lives such that this subconscious motivator for hate driven by jealousy diminishes or disappears "
??????????????????
|
| |
"also you can't say nobody cares, when millions of people are obviously talking about it. "
yes, those people are deadbeats.
|
| |
Like, dude who is huge but also has a history of biting off smaller artists material and making way bigger songs off of it because of his brand and hurting those small artists sales and careers because of that finally had karma catch up with him. How do you see that’s not entertaining
|
| |
im not even defending drake if anything i prefer kanyes crew ~MUSICALLY~ but people giving a fuck about other peoples personal lives that are 100% separate from theirs makes me ill, how fucking bored can you be
|
| |
"dude who is huge but also has a history of biting off smaller artists material and making way bigger songs off of it because of his brand"
example?
|
| |
yes, those people are deadbeats [2]
also, i never said nobody cares thats exactly whats annoying me but if user mctime is the type to put words in ppls mouths i will quickly ignore them from here on out no problem
|
| |
cut the shit act Chuck, maple syrup is thicker than water.
|
| |
Lmfao it's the most prominent thing in pop culture right now, people are talking about it, ya don't have to throw a hissy fit about it
|
| |
DRAM, ILoveMakonnen, Ramriddlz, X, The time he tried to produce a posthumous Aaliyah album without talking to Missy or Timberland about it whatsoever... the list goes on and on and on, just google the shit.
|
| |
"example?"
Isn't Hotline Bling completely ripped from some other artist? Also isn't Drake pretty much the reason why partynextdoor and like every other ovo artist hasn't done shit for years cause they're all ghostwriting for him now or something?
|
| |
"example?"
hotline bling
|
| |
idk, i mean drake has always been a pop artists vs a typical solo lone wolf hip hop artist with a whole crew around him, more of a project deal than an indie act if you will
is he stealing shit i dont know tbh im not that into him to have looked into it but i assume thered be copyright issues if its something hes actually profiting off of
if its songs he releases for free / mixtapes then it doesnt matter, such as with all of hip hop through, sampling etc
|
| |
did he sued for hotline bling
for the record, kanye (aka the creator of anything post 2012 pusha t) has been in shit for this stuff too, some of his samples on yeezus for example, that old scandinavian psych band he samples in new slaves sued him pretty sure
|
| |
He’s basically the Walmart of pop rap dude
|
| |
unless he puts it on his for-sale material without permission it doesnt matter and isnt any different than every other hip hop artist ever, and even if he does he'd be similar in that regard to a lot of people right or wrong, like i said including kanye who is ironically the mastermind behind pusha t's relevance in 2018
|
| |
i know take care and nwts was almost exclusively produced by 40, beyond that not so sure cause beyond that i dont like drakes shit as much
|
| |
Pusha has been putting out solo records with solid numbers since 2013 the fuck you mean? The only reason this is so much higher on the radar is because he also made a career as of late being “untouchable at beef” by hrowing shots back and forth with rappers that aren’t of his caliber (meek) while ignoring way higher grade ones (kdot) and he picked the wrong shot and blew up in his face.
|
| |
Chuck idk if you know this but whether he puts a remix or a song up for free or not if it’s getting radio play and he’s getting views off it he’s making a fuckton of money.
|
| |
the numbers are only what they are because of his work with kanye 100%
|
| |
"Chuck idk if you know this but whether he puts a remix or a song up for free or not if it’s getting radio play and he’s getting views off it he’s making a fuckton of money."
if its on a for free mixtape it doesnt matter legally, welcome to hip hop sir
maybe hotline bling is an exception
new slaves is an example from kanye, it isnt just drake
kanye is behind pusha t's relevance so shits hypocritical
|
| |
Also what about Trap Queen? That song originally had one of fetty’s Friends on it and drake just kind of remixed it and unceremoniously did his verse over that dudes part and he hasn’t done shit since, at least in the public eye
|
| |
drake didnt remix it fetty wap did with drake
|
| |
Why do you keep talking about Kanye? Lol no one mentioned Kanye, kanye has nothing to do with drake being shady. Fuck Kanye too, but that’s completely unrelated
|
| |
drake didnt remix it fetty wap did with drake
|
| |
"kanye is behind pusha t's relevance so shits hypocritical"
Pusha T was a part of Clipse, so I wouldn't go all that far.
botb, VA represent
|
| |
>kanye who is ironically the mastermind behind pusha t's relevance in 2018
emphasis on twenty eighteen
|
| |
i mean if you think pusha t would still be relevant in 2018 based on clipse had he not been put on runaway and subsequently had most of his music produced and handled by ye okay fine thats a valid opinion but i disagree completely
|
| |
Ok well if that’s true (idk and I don’t care enough to look into it I just put that up there as an example off the top of my head) but if it is fine. But seriously, if you think that people wouldn’t have been talking about this without Kanye producing it you are straight up dumb. Clipse has a billboard top 5 album and a top 15, Push has a solo top 5 and the last one was a top 20. The blackface picture of a major label artist that gets radio play constantly wouldn’t make waves if the person that uncovered it had more than like a thousand twitter followers? Lol
|
| |
difference of opinion then mate no big deal
maybe a drake diss would reach top 10 on r/hiphopheads had he not worked with ye or something, it would not be THE topic of pop culture discussion for the week of may 27 2018 IMO
|
| |
He already worked with Pharrell and the Neptunes for years his past works already speak for themselves to anyone who actively listens to hip hop
|
| |
So is there any solid proof that Drake has a child with that woman or nah?
|
| |
I mean it’s definitely hearsay, she should probably get a dna swab or something but if his line is named after the kid I’d say that’s a pretty big smoking gun
|
| |
I heard that rumor about the line being named after the kid as well but even that sounds shaky. I think we just gotta call in Maury Povich and settle it the ol fashion way on daytime television.
|
| |
JERRY JERRY
|
| |
Push is just salty cuz his best bars are on a Justin Timberlake track. Go get that clout tho dude.
|
| |
about time someone knocked drake down a peg
|
| |
pusha wins anyways cuz daytona getting boosted
|
| |
@toocool4pos Really, dude? Haha.
|
| |
I don’t really know either of these guys music but damn after that I might have to check out pusha ts music. That was a thorough as fuck diss track if I ever heard one.
|
| |
who cares about any of this
|
| |
@Thealwaysopenedmind
Clipse and J. Timberlake, now how heavy is that?
|
| |
Hmm, being born and raised in Toronto, by instinct I would automatically defend Drake, but this song is pretty good lol
|
| |
