I don't know. A lot of the articles that were written about this claimed that the band had fired him, but I haven't seen any validation of that. So far, the band hasn't claimed that they got rid of him, and he hasn't claimed that he walked.

He's walked before and I'm pretty sure he's mentioned in the past that he only performs with Mac for the money. It's likely that he wasn't keen on a tour and the band decided to just go ahead without him. It's pretty unlikely that they would "fire" the most important member of the band.

Not surprising. Buckingham has said many times before that he's doing FM for the money these days. The guy still regularly puts out solo albums and writes new stuff (just released a solo album with the rest of the band minus Stevie Nicks last year), he doesn't want to be playing to nostalgia and from what I understand Stevie Nicks doesn't want to write new music anymore with the band so what reason is there for him to stay other than money he probably doesn't need?
