American power metal band Kamelot have now officially released the music video for the song 'Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)' off their upcoming album The Shadow Theory. The song features guest vocals by Lauren Hart of Once Human. The video meanwhile also features the debut of Kamelot's new drummer Johan Nunez (though the drums were recorded by previous drummer Casey Grillo).

Agreed on it being better than the last song, but overall I'm feeling really skeptical about this album.

Great song. A bit chaotic in the bridge, but at this point I think it's safe to say they know how to write tasty choruses and keep delivering them. It's only half-way where they've been in their prime (if at all), but it's very respectable.

Certainly better than the previous song, but still Kamelot by the numbers nowadays. I should stop trying to compare this to Karma/Epica/Black Halo era and I'll probably enjoy it.

Or they could make sure each subsequent album is better than the last.

It's pretty obvious that Kamelot has become a much different band since that era. There's no way they'll ever go back to it, especially now that Tommy is the vocalist. If you're honestly expecting another one of those albums you're going to be disappointed every time.

They don't need to replicate their past works in order to match or even surpass them.

I’ve heard only heard one stream of the full album but I still don’t know. There’s moments of greatness, but an unrivalled failed expectation to reach a Halo-like quality level. It could just be me not letting go of the band’s hey day
