It might turn out cool cuz many of their tracks lend themselves well to that, but a proper new album would have been more interesting.

Actually I'll be really curious to hear this; band has always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

This gonna be like a "Red"-style sound then with strings and shit? I'm down. Last album wasn't bad at all.

I think this is a really cool concept. I don't know how I feel about this particular band doing it or the music that's getting the rework, but I dig that they're trying something new with their art. Honestly, I wish there were more bands that felt comfortable revisiting and revising their old stuff.

That being said, it will only work if they dedicate themselves whole-heartedly to the concept. I agree, if it's just a cash grab (the recent My Chemical Romance release comes to mind) then it's going to suck. Don't just put strings to the songs... re-imagine them!
