I seriously don't know why people are flipping out and losing respect for the band. Even if it is to make money, they freaking need it. They literally couldn't have made their last 2 albums if one rich dude didn't pay for the whole thing in exchange for a favour. They simply wouldn't have existed. These guys are incredibly talented, have very frequent output, and with their expensive world tours and orchestral production, they really can't have a lot of money left in the bank.

I don't even think this is a purely "greedy" endeavour anyway; I think it's a cool idea that they think will be a lot of fun for them and the attendees.

The more money they get, the more time Casey can spend composing rather than building and selling guitars for a living. That guy must never sleep.

if anyone watched the livestream announcement of this, Casey made it very clear that the resort is the one charging the money, as it's all going for the participants' food and lodging. He really didn't have any say in that, they just approached him and were like "would your band be interested in leading this?" and they were like "yeah, that'd be cool"

I've been to that resort for a music camp before. Pretty sure the last band I went for was more expensive but the perks are excellent. This is worth the money.

Any actual musician who thinks this is a bad idea, go watch a Drummer's Dream on Netflix. Take a look.at the attendees faces and tell me you would not love that experience. My wife attended summer music camps growing up and at 30 years old still recalls them as the most fun she's ever had. The monetary amount of this of this is well outweighed by the lasting value. You'd be able to learn and improve on your skills in a week what you would usually take a year to learn.

This is so dumb. You guys make it sound like they sold out and released music with Lil Wayne. It's a fucking summer camp. I'd go if I was in the area and if this is just one of the many bands who collaborate with that certain camp, then it's not them who'll make the real money. They'll get paid a certain sum to be there 5 days or so.
They are not a big label band. If they were, we'd probably not receive such quality output, because it's not commercially viable. So, if they use this money to fund a new album, be happy about it.
