Is it still the same two hipsters making this music? I've only heard the first album and it just sounded like Nintendo electro. Didn't like it.

No Alice Glass (the vocalist for the first three albums) left in 2014 due to some falling out I think. It's the same guy though, just a different girl singing.
If you only listened to the first album, it might be worth checking out the other two. The second and third are much darker and atmospheric IMO. Just get really drunk or high and listen to "Vietnam" off their second album and tell me what you think after that.
|
| |
yeah Vietnam is one of their best tracks
i prefer their first nostalgically to any of the others but their second is probs their best
not looking forward to this really, dont have high hopes for them anymore

band is diametrically different, that album is ass. check (ii).
band is a lot more subdued now, idk how i feel about that
|
| |
album isnt ass its just less serious and more fun. still has plenty of good tunes
if you want to be a tryhard get into their later stuff and pretend ur really dark and cool yeah why not
|
| |
well he already didn't like the first (correct opinion), so yeah, try (ii)
|
| |
"correct opinion"
its no wonder most of the site thinks you're fucking awful
|
| |
lol, it ok
i do feel that the first album is nothing like anything else the band has put, however
|
| |
la cocaieeeeeeeene, bla bla bla *bleep bleep bleep boop. nintendo nintendo bleep bloop blip blop* CRYMEWAVE!
|
| |
I'm liking this, it's got quite an EBM thing going on which is sweet
|
| |
i feel it's a little laid-back, would like a more histrionic sound but it cool
|
| |
Song would be great in a Blade/Mortal Kombat OST.

This shit with Edith is so weird. She dresses like Alice, wears her makeup similarly, copied Alice's vocal style, etc. I could understand if she copied her singing style because that's pretty common when a new singer joins a band, but essentially becoming her is too weird.
That said, the song is legit.
|
| |
well, it's the aesthetic of the band, couldn't expect anything different tbh, considering fashion is also part of this band's style
it does give a funny vibe when coming from this band tho, since they're weird and apersonal and all lol. i like it
|
| |
Yeah, Alice's look was pretty unique and one of the defining characteristics of the band, so I understand why Edith is copying her, but it comes off super phony.
Also, not sure if you're all aware, but Edith is name of the younger sister of Alice Liddell, the girl who inspired the book "Alice In Wonderland." Which also made me realize she probably called herself "Alice Glass" because of "ALICE In Wonderland" and the sequel "Through The Looking GLASS." Maybe I'm connecting dots where they don't exist, but it's fun to think about.
|
| |
song is not good
|
| |
they'll never top Crystal Castles II
song was alright but forgettable
|
| |
i wanna see edith eerily copying everything alice does, dressing like her talking like her, then she reveals she's actually just a robotic husk devoid of emotions
|
| |
Fire just like the other new tracks
|
| |
First time listening to this band.
Not too bad, the girl's voice annoyed me but I liked the atmosphere that the electronics brought on in every part but the weird distortion that was in line with the girl's vox.
