Peter Gabriel Streams Single

2016-06-16 by DKMachine | 9 Comments
English singer-songwriter and humanitarian activist Peter Gabriel has released a new single titled "I'm Amazing," which will be available for download on Friday the 17th of June. The track was originally written a few years ago. It was inspired by legendary boxer and activist Muhammad Ali, who died earlier this month. The release comes five days before the beginning of Gabriel's 2016 North American tour with Sting.

It looks like there's a typo. It should read "I Was Amazing." ;-) just kidding.

This is an artist that has always prided himself for being innovative, for going forward without repeating the past or even looking back to it. His last years of production were artsy rehashes of either his old work or covers of other peoples'. This «new» song confirms to me why he has not released any new material in 14 years: again the production is flawless and aurally impressive but it fails to cover that this is something that is, melodically and lyrically, coming from a man that has obviously become unable to escape his own bag of tired clichés and is aware of it.
