wow, this did not disappoint.
|
| |
What a good news day! Deftones, Thrice and to a lesser extent this. Song is OK, glad they are back with Anthony Green.
|
| |
yeah! if only thrice were actually good and not boring as all hell
|
| |
I never thought this would happen and there are no words for my excitement
|
| |
Wow, this is really nice.
|
| |
wow, this did not disappoint. [2]
|
| |
damn this is great
|
| |
song is pretty good, the drumming is still on point.
|
| |
Exciting news but the song is very meh. Where are the riffs??
|

Sounds like a circa song with obligatory screams added unnecessarily.
I'm still looking forward to hearing the album but this only solidifies my low expectations
|
| |
This wasn't bad, may check this out when its released. Never really got into circa or saosin, but I've listened to a fair amount of both.
|
| |
This is pretty sweet. Doesn't riff quite as hard as their debut but it's still pretty solid. Looking forward to the album.
|
| |
Been waiting a long time for this!
|
| |
can't stand that cheap/fake/electronic drum tone every core band has these days but hey this isn't so bad
|
| |
Definitely happy that we're getting a new Saosin album. The song wasn't amazing, but it was still very well put together. Having high hopes for these guys.
|
| |
beats everything on the last two Circa Survive albums
|
| |
Green's vocals on choruses are always so catchy, it's great. Song was pretty good overall and I'll definitely check this out when it drops. But it is weird reanimating a dead Hot Topiccore bands corpse like this.
|
| |
"Sounds like a circa song with obligatory screams added unnecessarily. "
Exactly the same thoughts
"beats everything on the last two Circa Survive albums"
No way. Descensus had some sick tracks on it.
But anyways, this is alright. I mean, it's hard to expect Green to sound the same as he did like 13 years ago, but I kind of miss the raw and chaotic sound they had on Translating the Name. That being said, it's only one song, so I'm still excited for this, just due to the fact that it's Saosin with Anthony Green again.
|
| |
might be the greatest thing i have ever heard
|
| |
This sucks bring back Cove
|
| |
Song is pretty great!
|
| |
Glad they're finally putting out new music. High hopes for this.
|
| |
sounds like circa stuff with screaming. i was hoping for more of a "Translating the Name" sound
|
| |
Amazing. I am so happy about this. You know what this sounds like? This is if Circa continued their evolution from Blue Sky Noise. Green's vocals are INSANE.
Circa's evolution after BSN reminds me of post-NTFP Anberlin. More mature? Sure. But a lot of energy was lost, except for a few songs here and there.
This makes me happy. So much passion and energy. Can't wait for the album.
Didn't notice Jax Taylor took over on lead vocals though LOL.
|
| |
Single is a little weak but I still like it. Hope the rest of the album will be like TTN
|
| |
yeah this sounds like a heavier cs, not really complaining as it's great and green sounds on point
but translating the name pt 2 would be so sweet
|
| |
bring back pat
|
| |
Can't help but think this song would be so much better with Cove instead of this screechy dude
|
| |
Cove wasn't that good, though. He sounded good on recordings thanks to studio magic but he was super pitchy live.
|
| |
"beats everything on the last two Circa Survive albums"
For sure better than anything on Violent Waves, but not Decensus.
|
| |
Decensus blends together too much. also im really pissed off because my car ate the CD and i still cant get it out.
|
| |
Song sounds fantastic, sounds alot like secret and whisper though
|
| |
"Circa's evolution after BSN reminds me of post-NTFP Anberlin. More mature? Sure. But a lot of energy was lost, except for a few songs here and there."
uh what
|
| |
this sounds a bit bland to me
|
| |
Ugh this was so good when they premiered it on the first date of the tour and the studio version is great too.
|
| |
man i cant believe anthony is back this is crazy, very excited for this
|
| |
Circa survive comparisons are dumb. Take away the vocals and the instrumentals are very different.
|
| |
What are you wondering ProjectFreak? Anberlin is the band I'm most disappointed in for losing energy and mellowing out (Coheed is starting to do the same), and after the amazing Blue Sky Noise, Circa released two ho-hum relatively quiet albums without momentum, and that's what it reminds me of.
|
| |
"Circa survive comparisons are dumb"
this song, with out the tacked on screaming, would fit in to decensus seamlessly
|
| |
"Can't help but think this song would be so much better with Cove instead of this screechy dude"
can't believe people actually think this, disgusting tbh imo
|
| |
cove was almost comically bad, especially towards the end when he had dreads.
I guess he's okay on the albums but, that's not saying shit
same with people preferring kurt travis over jonny Craig, which is just as ridiculous
|
| |
I chose this song for a project for Language Arts and thought I did pretty damn well. Everyone got to present their project but I couldn't. I asked my teacher why I haven't presented yet and she goes. "Saosin isn't appropriate for our school, its to dark. It sets bad examples for kids in my class." I totally snapped when she said that I just yelled and said "Well least it's better than talking about big butts and boobs and sex! Least it actually means something!" And got suspended for talking back to a teacher. I'm sorry isn't there a thing called "freedom of speech?" Oh wait! No, this is America. There's no such thing as justice, freedom or freedom of speech. That's just a fairytale. What I would like to say to my shook administration is: Fuck. You.
|
| |
The funny thing is that Kurt Travis is actually a better vocalist than Johnny now. And I mean that in the most complimentary way to Kurt while also being insulting to Johnny.
Anyway, song was decent but I've never understood why Translating the Name was so highly praised
|
| |

Goddamn, I actually cringed. Kids..
|
| |
yea fuck Jonny tbh absolute piece of shit and overrated singer
Anthony on the other hand is a talented mofucker, incredible performer and all-round great guy
fuck cove
|
| |
saosin, deftones, thrice, smile empty soul, starting line...sup high school. missed ya
|
| |
I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA
|
| |
I'm getting this on vinyl when it comes out. Too bad that's in june.
|
| |
FUCK. YES.
|
| |
surprisingly not horrible
|
| |
saw them last night and they fucking killed it
|
| |
AOTY RIGHT HURR
|
| |
Liked Cove better lol.
|
| |
Really? The guy singing in this video? Find a video of Anthony ever singing this poorly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Ey4xsQxZc
|
| |
I'm betting that video is a worst-case example because it seems like he probably can't hear himself, but still.
|
| |
To be fair Cove could be pretty inconsistent. But when he was on point he was fantastic.
|
| |
Pretty dull at first but it's a bit of a grower. They're really missing their lead guitarist.
|
| |
I like!
|
| |
cool a new Circa Survive song
|
| |
This dude's voice is just so grating to me. I know Cove was pretty bad live but his performance on their self titled was great and I would take more of that over this any day.
|
| |
Wait is oltnabrick being funny, or is that real? Either way 10/10 cringed hard.
>especially towards the end when he had dreads.
Hahaha oh you're kidding me. Gonna google that. Cove had his moments. Probably sucked live, but he had a nice tone that fit slower or medium-paced songs. Green is def better though in just about every way.
|
| |
Saosurvive is back
|
| |
Damn son, where'd ya find this?
|
| |
Really hope the other songs won't sound like they could be on Descensus without anyone noticing a difference.
|
| |
Like most people have said, it sounds like Circa Survive with harsh vocals but honestly that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Can't wait for the album to drop.
|
| |
It's a good Circa song but it should be on a Circa album then. I want good Saosin songs.
|
| |
Wow, this is really growing on me still. Excellent song.
|
| |
This year could honestly see new albums from:
1. Deftones
2. Tool
3. Brand New
4. Fall of Troy
5. Alexisonfire
6. At the Drive-In
7. Saosin
8. Thrice
9. Underoath
I can dig it.
|
| |
FALL OF TROY? WHAT DID I MISS?
What a a year for movies and music, shit.
|
| |
Yeah, they've reunited with the original lineup and are writing. Played some new shit live already if you wanna look for it.
|
| |
The drumming has always been my favorite part of Saosin. Glad they are back with AG too... but Circa Survive better be back...
|
| |
