Pitchfork has reported that the seminal trip hop group Massive Attack has announced a new European tour to take place in early 2016. Starting in Dublin, Ireland on January 19, the band will trek through the UK, Benelux and Central Europe, finishing their tour in Paris, France on February 26.

Most interestingly, the band claims that details regarding new music will be announced "soon", with a release date expected to be late this year.

Very excited. Heligoland seemed to've come out a long time ago but it's been 5 years.

Massive Attack are one of those few bands to have had their songs used virtually everywhere (films, commercials, TV shows, radio, etc.) and yet people have not grown to hate the songs, as has happened with other artists who had their songs EVERYWHERE at one point or another (see: Moby, Limp Bizkit, some Muse songs, any other overplayed pop bands of the late 90s/early 00s)
