Kyo release new music video 2015-03-10 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 12 Comments | Reunited French pop-rock superstars Kyo have released a new music video for their song 'Poupées Russes', from their 2014 comeback album L’Équilibre.
The band are currently touring France in support of their album, on their "Le Graal Tour".
Frontman Benoît Poher and guitarist/bassist/keyboardist Florian Dubos had spent Kyo's hiatus in anglophone alternative rock/post-hardcore band Empyr until 2013, when Kyo reunited.
The music video can be found here:

First I was disappointed because I thought it was DIR EN GREY Kyo's stuff, but this turned out to be pretty cool.
| | | Juste non
| | | Kyo have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Kinda like France's version of Busted but way more moody and rock oriented (look at 300 Lesions which funnily gets namechecked in this song) unless you listen to their debut album which is cheesy as hell.
| | | Not too bad, but a little bit cheesy.
| | | Sérieux? Kyo?
| | | TBF Contact was a banger and Sad Day could easily have been a post-hardcore anthem if done by a more scene oriented band
| | | Do you guys know that kyo is considered as worst than Nickelback in France?
| | | I find more parallels with Busted really. Band releases a couple of albums that are HUGE in their home country, band breaks up in 2005 after a moodier album, member(s) form heavier band with new members that have nu metal/hardcore background, band reunites in 2013. Same for both of them. Although in Busted's case the reunion was sort of a merger with McFly and one member declined to take part but still.
| | | Huge in their country? You mean huge with 13 year old girls seriously. I remember exactly when their song played on the radio, it was just a pop band selling to teenagers.
I actually preferred the side project the singer did with that song, New Day if I remember correctly. But if I remember correctly, I only liked that one song lol.
| | | Definitely prefer the first Empyr album. Was more post-hardcore/pop punk oriented while the second album just became English Kyo without the angst of 300 Lesions (mate some of the songs on 300 Lesions are heavier than anything on Unicorn)
| | | Personally I think that while Kyo started out as another straightfoward 90s guitar pop band (just listen to the first album and it's generic pop music from the late 90s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UZmXNl8aVU), they did get progressively darker with Le Chemin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLuOd8xMRRo) and 300 Lesions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkKiQYv631A) before two of them went off to do Empyr and now they've come back a lot more mature.
| | | I did hear their album, I'm French, I was force-fed these songs by the radio when I was younger
But yeah they are a 90s guitar pop band. Nothing new, nothing special, but that's just my opinion, enjoy them if you like their music
