Death Cab reveal details of new album

2015-01-12 by NordicMindset | 13 Comments
Veteran indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie have revealed details surrounding their upcoming eighth studio album. Titled Kintsugi with a release date of March 31, the record marks the first without longtime guitarist Chris Walla as a part of the band. In spite of Walla's departure, the 17-year member of the group and his guitarwork can still be heard on the record. The album's artwork and track list were also announced, the former of which can be seen here:

Discussing the album's title, bassist Nick Harmer explained, "The album's called Kintsugi.
It's a Japanese style of art where they take fractured, broken ceramics and put them back together with very obvious, real gold. It's making the repair of an object a visual part of its history. That resonated with us as a philosophy, and it connected to a lot of what we were going through, both professionally and personally
."

Track list:
1. "No Room in Frame"
2. "Black Sun"
3. "The Ghosts of Beverly Drive"
4. "Little Wanderer"
5. "You've Haunted Me All My Life"
6. "Hold No Guns"
7. "Everything's a Ceiling"
8. "Good Help (Is So Hard to Find)"
9. "El Dorado"
10. "Ingénue"
11. "Binary Sea"

I rather liked the last few songs on codes and keys, but little else. Here's hoping.

First album since the singer and Zooey Deschanel got divorced, right? Sounds like a dick thing to say but this should be really good with the emotion from that put into it
