really dug 808's back in the day. to me, the whole auto-tune for Kanye was more endearing than gimmicky because you can tell he actually needed it and you could even still hear the vulnerability in his voice even with the auto-tune at his disposal.
also, is this arrangement only something Paul can do? what makes it so special? or is it just for name notoriety?
would be open to more of this on his next release

kind of like a 2015 version of something off College Dropout. Enjoyed Kanye showing his more vulnerable side, auto-tuned and all
|
| |
ass
|
| |
Sounds like a happier 808s, lyrics are some of his best.
|
| |
No not at all dude this is really good.

nice dude, did you like the song? i did
|
| |
I don't think I could ever have Macca in my song and have the guts to not have him sing lead
This is pretty good though
|
| |
This is a pretty nice arrangement, especially the last minute or so. Better than anything on 808s
|
| |
well it's better than yeezus. I did kinda enjoy it, but as a singer kanye is very very limited, I hope he doesn't do a whole album in this style.
|
| |
wut
|
| |
way too much autotune
|
| |
this fukn rules what are you all on
kanye can do no wrong
circlejerk mode strong now fams
|
| |
autotune's barely noticeable for like half the track what are you talking about
|
| |
this is beautiful
|
| |
soty 2015
|
| |
more stuff like this for the next album pls Kanye
|
| |
This is one of the few times where I think Kayne hit the autotune sweet spot. It's not too overpowering but you can still hear little tonal distortions here and there. This could be real cool in the context of an album.
|
| |
Happier 808s is the perfect description of this... I dig it.
|
| |
well shit this is annoying
|
| |

This is fucking lovely.

January 1st 2015
worst thing i've heard all year
|
| |
why don't people seem to understand that the most honestly autotune can be used is when it's really obviously done like here
|
| |
tenoree about me
|
| |
Complete ass
|
| |
Song's beautiful. Lot more powerful when you realise it's from his mother's perspective.
|
| |
i like everything but the autotune
|
| |
From pitchfork....
The process that would result in "Only One" began with a simple brainstorming session between the two: With McCartney improvising on the keyboards and Kanye vocally sketching and shaping ideas in a stream-of-consciousness riff.
that should answer how the song was made for everyone
that being said this song was really really good
|
| |
I like it

Fight me!!
|
| |
incredible.
|
| |
I have a friend who only really listens to Beatles related things, Kanye West, and and some other poppy rap and pop acoustic stuff.
He'd love this.
As for me... all I hear is an autotuned nightmare placed over a boring background.
|
| |
You are truly enlightened
